Collapsing the handle (Illustration A1 )
To save storage space or for transportation, loosen the four wing nuts such that the handlebar can be folded together
without resistance in Z-shape above the engine A1 .
The toothed fitments on the lower end of the bar must snap out of the recess on the housing.
Do not kink nor squeeze the cables.
CAUTION
When the bar is moved for transport and storage purposes, it may fold over unintentionally during loosening of the
wing nuts and release of the toothed fitments from the recesses on the housing. In addition, squashing spots can
occur between the base and top of the bar and the housing. This may result in risk of injury!
Transporting and securing the equipment (Illustration N )
If the equipment has to be carried, do not hold the ejection flap! Hold the front and rear part on the handle
(see illustration N ).
Pay attention to the weight of the equipment before you lift or carry the equipment (see Technical data). Lifting heavy
loads can cause health problems.
We recommend that the equipment be always lifted or carried by at least two people.
Transport the equipment in the upright posture.
Park the means of transportation on level ground so that the equipment cannot roll away before it is secured
Hang out the collection bag and secure it separately during transportation
Secure the equipment with approved load-strapping means (e.g. tie-down straps with clamping elements) on or inside
the vehicle. Tie-down straps are belt bands made of synthetic fibres. Every tie-down strap is designated. The label
contains important details for application
For loaded goods that can roll, it is recommended to use direct strapping with four belts. Secure the equipment on the
wheels so that it does not move during transportation.
ATTENTION
Do not tighten the belts too firmly. Fixing the equipment too firmly can cause damages.
Maintenance of the blade
A sharp blade guarantees the optimum cutting performance. Check the condition and firm seating of the blade before every
use. A worn or damaged blade must be replaced immediately.
Sharpening and balancing the blade (Illustration Q )
WARNING
The sharpening and balancing of the blade should be carried out only by an authorized specialist workshop, since
according to the applicable standard DIN EN 60335, an insulation test must always be carried out following repairs
or maintenance work to insulating components (e.g. blade screws).
An improperly sharpened or unbalanced blade can cause severe vibrations, and damage the lawnmower.
IMPORTANT
When balancing pay attention to the 2.9g threshold value.
The cutting edges of the cutting blade may be grinded only until the respective value (see Figure Q ) or the marking (1) on
the cutting blade (ring) has been reached. Attention! Observe the grinding angle of 30°.
Your professional workshop can check this value - (grinding limit) for you!
WARNING
A blade by which the wear limit (marking) has been exceeded can break off and spin away; this can cause severe
injuries.
Replacing the blade
WARNING
Always have the replacement of the blade bar carried out by an authorised specialist workshop, since according to
the applicable standard DIN EN 60335, an insulation test must always be carried out following repairs or
maintenance work to insulating components (e.g. blade screws).
The blade bar can also become detached if the blade coupling is assembled incorrectly, which can lead to severe
injuries.
Only use original blades for replacement purposes (Order no. see original spare parts and accessories).
Blades must be indelibly marked with name and/or trademark of the manufacturer or supplier and with the parts number.
