BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

1. Set the browning level to maximum.

2. Operate the appliance empty, to cure the new elements.

3. This may smell a bit, but it’s nothing to worry about. Ensure the room is well

ventilated.

TOASTING

Toasting involves exposing bread to a controlled heat, which causes a chemical

reaction called the ‘Maillard Reaction’. This doesn’t just brown the bread, but alters the

avour and texture, which is why toast tastes so good!

Since toasting is a combination of drying then cooking the bread, it is aected by

various factors such as dierences in the bread’s thickness, freshness and surface

texture. Local and regional variations in household electricity voltages can also have an

eect on toasting time which is why we would advise to initially try dierent toasting

settings in order to nd your perfect shade of toast.

TOASTING BREAD

1. Sit the toaster upright on a rm, level, heat-resistant surface.

2. Put the plug into the power socket.

3. Turn the browning control to the required setting (1 = light, 6 = dark).

4. Put bread into the toasting slots as follows:

• 1-2 slices: Put the bread into the left hand slots then press the left hand lever

down.

• 3-4 slices: Put the bread into the left and right hand slots then press the left

hand lever down rst, and then the right hand lever.

• The toaster will not latch if you press the right hand lever rst.

5. The 5 light will come on and the elements will heat up.

6. When it’s done, the toast will pop up.

7. To stop toasting, press 5.

• You may raise the lever further, to remove small items.

• You may raise the lever during toasting, to check progress, then lower it again.

FROZEN BREAD

1. Leave the browning level at your favoured setting, insert the frozen bread, lower

the lever, then press f.

2. The f light will come on, and the toasting time will be altered automatically to

give the same degree of browning you get with unfrozen bread.

The extreme left hand lever of my toaster will not engage when I try to put a slice of bread in to toast the bread.
The toaster is plugged in and switched on.

The lever on the left hand side of my 4 slice toaster is no longer staying down when I put toast into the left hand side of the left hand two slice compartment to toast the bread. Submitted on 13-7-2024 at 06:09
