Hallo

mijn naam is Mollie, ik ben een mammoet. Ik leefde

bijna 30.000 jaar geleden hier in de streek nabij

Dendermonde. Op een dag heb ik een verkeerde

boomschors gegeten en ben ik gestorven. Toen wist

ik niet dat ze mij pas 30.000 jaar later terug zouden

vinden in de zandwinningsput in de Sint-

Onolfspolder. Een jongen van 12 jaar oud, Hugo de

Potter, heeft, samen met andere mensen, de meeste

van mij grote botten teruggevonden. Ze hebben niet

alleen mijn botten gevonden, ook die van twee

andere mammoeten, acht wolharige neushoorns, een

oeros, een rendier en een paard. Ken jij deze dieren?
