Quick-action chuck with ASL
If the On/Off switch 2 is not pressed, the drill spindle and thus the tool
holding fixture are locked.
Inserting the tool
- Turn the clamping sleeve anticlockwise to open the clamping jaws.
- Insert the tool into the chuck.
- Clamp the tool in position by turning the
clamping sleeve clockwise.
- Tighten the sleeve of the quick-action chuck firmly by hand until it
no longer "clicks“.
Always pay attention that the tool is properly centred in the chuck.
Removing the tool
- Open the clamping sleeve in anticlockwise direction until the tool is
released and can be removed.
OPERATING TIPS
Drilling
Always select the speed to suit the material in question and the drill
bit diameter.
Fixing screws
Apply the power tool to the screw only when it is switched off.
Rotating tool inserts may slip. Before screwing larger, long screws
into hard materials, it is advisable to predrill a pilot hole with the core
diameter of the thread to approx. 2/3 of the screw length. Make sure
that the bit and screw correspond in size and shape. Optimal scre-
wing is achieved when the bit is fixed securely in the screw head.
Thread cutting
We recommend the use of machine thread taps.
- Lightly oil the thread tap.
- Cut in clockwise direction, stop, remove in anticlockwise direction.
NOTE
Always work at low speed when thread cutting. This prevents the
thread tap breaking off.
TOOLS AND ACCESSORIES
For metal, use only flawless, sharpened drills; for stone and concre-
te, only rock drills with hard metal inserts.
Screw tools
When using screwdriver bits, always use a bit holder. Use only
screwdriver bits that fit the screw head.
Changing the tool holder
Before carrying out any work on the machine, pull the mains plug. All
conventional chucks with internal thread (opening width max.10 mm)
can be used. Thread admission 3/8 - 24UNF.
Locking screw
Chuck fixed in place with locking screw.
- Remove the left-hand threaded screw which secures the chuck on
the drill spindle against unscrewing during anti-clockwise rotation.
- Replace the locking screw when you have fitted the chuck.
Removing the drill chuck
- Place the power tool on a stable base.
- Mount an Allen key in the drill chuck and fix a fork wrench on the
drill chuck at the front. At the same time, fix a fork wrench on the
wrench surface of the drive spindle.
- Fix the drive spindle and loosen the drill chuck by turning the Allen
key or fork wrench in an anticlockwise direction.
A tight drill chuck is loosened by tapping gently on the long shaft of
the Allen key or fork wrench.
- Remove the tools and unscrew the drill chuck completely.
Fitting the drill chuck
- Clean thread on drill chuck and drill spindle.
- Screw the drill chuck 1 onto the drill spindle.
The drill chuck must be tightened with a starting torque of 15 Nm.
- Secure the chuck with glue or the locking screw.
NOTE
Do not fix drill chuck wrench on the drill with chains, strings or simi-
lar means. The drill chuck wrench could get caught in moving parts
and lead to injuries.
Special accessories
Do not use accessories made by other manufacturers, as these are
not tested by us. It can be dangerous to use such accessories. To
avoid injury and damage, use only accessories recommended by us.
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE
