Position A= lowest speed
Position G = highest speed
Ensure that the drill is not allowed to jam for
longer than 2-3 seconde. Longer jamming can
lead to motor damage.
Important!
Continuous operation under strong load and
low speed can overheat the motor.
Allow the motor to cool down in no-load when
set at a high speed!
8. CHANGING DIRECTION OF ROTATION
(main rotation - clockwise)
Direction of rotation of the drill spindle is changed
using the reversing switch (3).
R = Clockwise (Right)
L = Anticlockwise (Left)
Important!
Presa the reversing switch until it reaches the
respective end position at the housing, i. e.
until it can be felt to engage!
The reversing switch is easiest to operate by
using the thumb and index or middle finger from
both sides.
Attention!
Change direction of rotation only when the
motor has ceased turning! When using the
drill as a screwdriver, the percussion mecha-
nism must be switched off. Switch-over by
means of the sliding switch (4).
When in middle position, the reversing switch
prevents the accidental activation of the full
wave electronic switch (1), for example when
changing tools or assembling/disassembling
the drill chuck.
9. PERCUSSION DRILLING DEVICE
The machine has an integrated percussion
mechanism and can be switched from normal
drilling to percussion drilling. The sliding switch
(4) allows switching from normal drilling to per-
cussion drilling or vice-versa while the machine is
in operation.
Normal drilling position:
Move switch (4) to the right in direction of normal
drilling.
Percussion drilling position:
Move switch (4) to the left in direction of percus-
sion drilling.
10. MECHANICAL 2-SPEED SELECTOR
The speed is selected by turning the selector dial
(5).
Position 1 = low speed
Position 2 = high speed
2-speed gearing gives the percussion drill added
versatility. The fast speed (position 2) is adjusted
for percussion drilling and nonnal small-hole drilling
up to a drill bit diameter of ap¬proximately 8 mm.
The slow speed (position 1) is adjusted for larger
drill bit diameters and for stirring applications.
11. THE SAFETY SLIPPLING CLUTCH
The slipping clutch begins to operate as soon as
the drill or the tool being driven is overloaded,
violently braked or jammed. The motor and tran-
smission continue to rotate, but the tool is no lon-
ger driven. This protects the driveline against
overloads and avoids damage to the gear teeth
caused by violent shocks.
12. CHUCK
The chuck is tightened with a turning moment
of 30 Nm. Only this guarantees that the chuck is
not unintentionally unwound from the drill spindle
in anticlockwise mode. Should the chuck be
undone from the drill spindle for the purpose of
replacement, the new chuck must be tightened
with a turning moment of at least 30 Nm before
the machine is used again.
The piane surfaces of the chuck and drill spindle
must be cleaned before a new chuck is mounted.
Caution!
Before disassembling and reassembling the
drill chuck, disconnect the machine from the
power supply, or remove the mains cable
module (6) from the grip using the locking
device button (7).
Caution!
When turning anticlockwise, it is possible
that the chuck loosens itself from the spindle.
For this reason make sure that the chuck sits
properly on the spindle.
13. OPERA
TING THE QUICK-CHANGE
CHUCK
This chuck has been developed especially for
use with percussion drills.
The fully-automatic spindle locking device ena-
bles a quick and problem-free tool change in the
chuck.
