and remove any residual used coffee. If there
is water remaining inside the boiler, leave it to
cool down, remove all removable parts and
then empty it via the opening at the top by
turning the appliance upside down.
Cleaning the steam nozzle
Clean the nozzle every time that it is immersed
in milk, otherwise the inside of the nozzle will
become obstructed and milk residues will dry
onto the outside surface and are difficult to
clean once dry.
- If the nozzle is obstructed, remove the plastic
base of the special cappuccino accessory
(figure 13) when the appliance has cooled
down and unscrew the end of the nozzle.
Remove any particles of milk using a needle
and rinse under the tap. Refit the end of the
nozzle (figure 10) and ensure that it is
screwed on correctly. Wipe the outside of the
nozzle with a damp cloth. Hold the cloth at the
end of the nozzle so that it is covered and turn
the function selector to the position
(steam). Let the steam flow into the cloth for
one or two seconds, then close the nozzle.
Any milk residues should then be evacuated.
Rinse the plastic base of the special
cappuccino accessory with warm water. If the
holes that are used to suck in air are
obstructed, a small needle may be used to
clean them.
Cleaning the drip tray
- the grill and the drip tray may be cleaned by
removing the grill (figure 14).
NOTE
Do not attempt to open or remove the body of
the appliance.
DESCALING
The guarantee does not include appliances
which no longer operate or operate incorrectly
due to descaling not being carried out
correctly.
- Due to the acid substances used for
descaling, we recommend that you protect
work surfaces and the sink during this
operation, especially if they are made of
marble or stone. Isolate the appliance using a
towel, a table cloth or a tray. The espresso
machine must be descaled regularly. The
frequency of the descaling operations
depends on the hardness of the water and the
frequency of use.
Before descaling, first unscrew the grill inside
the percolator head.
1. Remove the scale and coffee residues from
the grill and percolator head.
2. Remove the plastic base of the special
cappuccino accessory
(figure 13).
3. Pour ¼ of white vinegar (do not use wine
vinegar) into the boiler.
Place a recipient underneath the percolator
head and another underneath the steam
nozzle.
(Tip: do not use the filter holder during
descaling).
4. Turn the selector to the position (steam)
and switch on the appliance. Let the
descaling solution flow through the
percolator head and the nozzle.
5. Once the cycle has been completed, switch
off the appliance and leave it to cool down.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5.
Fill the boiler with clear water and let it all flow
through. Repeat this process. Switch off the
appliance and leave it to cool down. Refit the
grill inside the percolator head and refit the
plastic base onto the special cappuccino
accessory.
GUARANTEE
Note! No repairs due to scale are covered by
