crossed by hand, in order to achieve
a possible even division of the screw
strength. After the handlebars have
been secured use the torque spanner –
clamping torque 6 Nm.
Control: Grip the brake handle from
above. The xation is correct when you
can no longer twist the handlebars up
or down.
Handlebar height
In order to adjust the handlebar height
one has the possibility on the one hand
to diversify the Spacer number which is
to be found under the stem, or on the
other hand to turn the mounting stem.
The mounted stem on your ROTWILD
road bike features an inclination and
can, as well as facing downwards (spor-
tive deep sitting position), be mounted
facing upwards (comfortable siting
position).
It is necessary to disassemble the
complete stem handlebars device in
order to position the handlebars height.
Please contact a qualied dealers
workshop. A crash or accident could
occur due to faulty mounting of the
stem-handlebars device, in which you
and/or others could come to harm.
Angle of handlebar
To set the angle of the handlebar, the
clamp screws on the handlebar stem
have to be loosened slightly and the
handlebar turned into the right positi-
on. The ideal riding position is when
your hands rest casually on the brake
lever unit in the riding position. Please
always make sure that you refasten the
clamping screws after setting the angle
of the handles, using the torque wrench
– fastening torque 6 Nm. Follow the
instructions above.
Before fastening the handles again,
please make sure that it is clamped
exactly in the centre of the handlebar
stem. Fasten the screw connections on
the handles securely – take care that
you do this evenly so that the clamp
openings at the top and bottom are
the same. Use a torque wrench for this
purpose. Fastening torque 6 Nm.
If you nd during your rst test ride that
the turning of the handlebar stem or
handles is not ideal, repeat the procedu-
re described above.
Falls or accidents
Please note that handlebars and stems
are essential parts of bicycle construc-
tion. Any modications to these parts may
endanger your safety. Be sure to use the
correct torque when tightening screws.
The wrong torque could result in parts
working loose or breaking during a ride.
This can lead to serious accidents.
