How to operate your appliance
1. Switching on
Observe the mains voltage. The mains voltage of the power source must be in conformity with the details
on the rating label of the appliance. Appliances declared with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Place the Raclette on a stable, even and heat-resistant surface.
As a protection against the hazard of fi re the space above the appliance has to be free and the distance
to walls must be at least 20 cm on all sides.
Position the grill plate correctly and place the pans on the practical parking surface.
Then connect the mains plug to a suitable socket. The LEDs light up and show that the appliance is
ready for use.
Now turn the temperature regulator clock-wise to MAX and pre-heat for 10 minutes.
Warning: The grill plate becomes hot during use. Therefore, be aware of the hazard of burns when
touching!
2. Grilling and raclette
After heating up the appliance, place the fi lled pans on the Raclette level.
Depending on the fi lling, the temperature can be regulated infi nitely.
By means of the spatulas, the food in the pans can be moved or the cheese can be pushed out. You can
also use other utensils made of wood or plastic. However, make sure that they do not have longer
contact with hot parts. Do not at all use cutlery made of metal as otherwise the non-stick coating may be
damaged.
Note: Always park the pans not in use on the practical parking surface when taking breaks from eating.
This ensures a gentle treatment of the non-stick coating.
Warning: Do not cut or scratch on the grill plate and in the pans. Scratched or superheated pans or grill
plates are not covered by warranty.
3. Switching off
For switching off, turn the temperature regulator to MIN and pull the mains plug.
Attention: To ensure a safe switch-off the appliance must be disconnected from the mains!
The appliance is hot. Only transport and clean it when it has cooled down completely.
Tips and notes
When using the grill plate for the fi rst time, grease it with some oil fi rst.
Make sure the food does not get in contact with the heating element as otherwise it will burn.
Only season cheese after melting as spices burn at high temperatures and generate unpleasant smoke.
If possible, the food to be grilled should be taken out of the fridge 1/2 hour before you start grilling. It
will roast more quickly and you avoid thicker meat staying cold inside.
Oil lean meat slightly before grilling. The best results are achieved with small and tender pieces of meat.
Do not pierce when turning, so that no juice is lost.
For closing the pores of the meat, it has to be seared shortly fi rst. The meat is ready when the juice
coming out is clear.
Spices and marinades might generate smoke when grilling. To avoid this you may use non-seasoned/
non-marinated raw meat and rather offer seasoning mixtures and barbecue sauces as side dish.
Of course, you can also grill vegetables and fi sh.
As side dishes, we recommend fresh salads and cooked potatoes.
Cleaning and maintenance
Switch off the appliance and unplug it.
Prior to cleaning, let the appliance completely cool down.
Then clean the grilling surface, pans and spatulas in lukewarm water with some dishwashing detergent.
Soak severe soiling fi rstly with some oil.
Wipe the heating element with a damp cloth only.
Never immerse appliance, cord or plug in water!
Make sure no water or steam may infi ltrate the appliance from below either.
