Prior to initial use
• Remove the protective film from the control panel.
• Please clean all removable accessories in hot water with a little detergent or in the dishwasher.
• Before first use, heat the appliance for 30 minutes at maximum temperature to burn in the protective
layer of the heating element.
Please do not be disturbed by the short-term, slight and harmless development of smoke and odours.
Ensure good ventilation in the room during this time. Avoid that the resulting odours move to other
rooms.
• After the appliance has cooled down, clean the inside with a damp cloth.
Operating the appliance
Attention: Hazard of injury or burns!
• The surfaces of the appliance, drying trays and dried food
become hot during operation!
• Hot surfaces are still hot after switching off!
IMPORTANT: The appliance is equipped with a large fan which distributes the air evenly inside the
appliance. After completion of the drying process, the fan continues to run for a short time depending on
the set temperature/time. This is not a defect of the appliance!
1.) Place drying trays in the appliance
• Place the filled drying trays onto the embossed insertion levels. Make sure that the food does
not touch the protective grid in the rear part inside the appliance.
• Close the door of the appliance.
Note: The drying grid and drying plate included in the scope of delivery (1 or 2 parts depending
on the model) can also be used for drying. The drying grid, placed on a drying tray, is suitable
for drying finely chopped food, such as herbs. Very moist food can be dried on the drying plate
if it is placed in the appliance, also on a drying grid. Alternatively, the plate can be positioned at
the bottom of the dehydrator to catch any falling pieces and make subsequent cleaning easier.
