• Do not use the appliance’s upper side as depositing rack or working top as
it will get hot when operating the appliance! As protection against fire, do
generally not put objects made of paper, plastic, fabric or other inflammable
material on hot surfaces!
• Only use suitable pots or pans with sound, even bottom and appropriate
diameter (also fire-proof glass or chinaware). If the pot bottom is uneven or
too small, you will waste energy. The cooking plate and the pot bottom must
always be clean and dry.
• Do not use cooking vessels made of plastic, inferior enamel, porcelain or
aluminium foil.
• Attention! Hazard of fire! Fat and oil can ignite when overheated.
Therefore, food containing fat and oil must be prepared under supervision only.
• In case any plastic objects, aluminium foil, sugar or dishes containing sugar
accidentally happen to melt on the cooking surface, immediately shove them
away from the hot cooking zone with a cleaning scraper.
• Never splash cold water on the hot cooking surface!
• Appliance and accessories must have cooled completely before cleaning or
moving them!
• Observe the following when setting up the appliance:
$ Place the appliance on a heat-resistant, stable and even surface (no
varnished surfaces, no table cloths etc.).
$ Place it beyond children’s reach.
$ Leave a sufficient ventilation distance to all sides of the appliance to avoid
damage by heat or fat splatters and to grant an unobstructed work area.
Unhindered air supply has to be ensured.
$ Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of sources of heat (oven, gas
flame etc.) or in explosive environments, where inflammable liquids or
gases are located.
Attention! Hazard of fire! This appliance is not qualified for installation.
• Never use oven sprays or stain-removers for cleaning! Special cleaning
agents for the Ceran® surface are available on the market.
• Avoid scratches on the glass plate caused by pointed or sharp objects.
Protect the glass plate against breakage by falling objects.
• If cracks, fissures or breakage occur, or when it can be assumed that safe use
is no longer guaranteed, switch off the appliance immediately.
