Operating modes
• Keepthepowercordawayfromhotsurfaces,sharpedgesandmechanicalforces.Checkthe
power cord regularly for damage and deteriorations. Damaged or entangled cords increase
the risk of an electric shock.
• Fordisconnectingtheappliancefromthemains,onlyusetheplug,neverthecord!
• Thiselectricalappliancecomplieswiththerelevantsafetyregulations.Incasetheappliance,
the power cord or the sealing is damaged or the glass surface is broken, immediately pull the
mains plug.
Attention! Hazard of burns! During use, some areas will become hot. These can still exist after
switching off the appliance. Be aware of the hazard of burns when touching the appliance.
• Repairsmaybeeffectedbyauthorisedspecialistshopsonly.Improperrepairsmayresultin
considerable dangers for the user.
• Improperuseandnon-observanceoftheinstructionmanualwillvoidallwarrantyclaims.
Off mode
The control is not active and all displays are off. A possibly existing residual heat will be indica-
ted, thus, there is still mains voltage.
Operating mode
As least one cooking zone is activated and shows a cooking level (0 to 9) in the display.
Locking mode
The control is locked, only the ON/OFF sensor can be applied to switch the appliance off. The
display will show an “L” (lock) if a sensor is applied.
Manual locking:
By simultaneously applying the sensors “DUAL CIRCUIT” and “MINUS” (at the double
cooking plate the MINUS of the left cooking zone), a child-proof lock can be activated
(see also point “Child-proof lock”).
Automatic locking:
As soon as the control recognises a fault, all cooking zones will be switched off and
the control will be locked. The display will show an “F” (fault). As soon as the fault is
removed, the locking will be removed.

ON/OFF sensor (main switch)
The ON/OFF sensor is for switching the control or the complete appliance on and
off.
Switching the control on
• ApplytheON/OFFsensorfortheperiodof1seconduntilashortacknowledgementtone
sounds. The touch control electronic switches on and changes from the off mode to the opera-
ting mode. The glowing “0” in the 7-segment display shows you that the appliance is switched
on. (This indication might be pushed into the background by the indication of residual heat or
an error code).
