6.1 STARTING A CHARGE OR DISCHARGE PROCESS
Before the selected process can be carried out, you must connect the battery to the
Output 1 charge sockets, taking care to maintain correct polarity. It is important to use
suitable charge leads, e.g. those from the comprehensive robbe range.
The selected process is actually started by holding the ‘3-
D hotkey’ pressed in for at least two seconds. The char-
ger emits an audible signal, and checks the connected
battery; at the same time an on-screen message informs
you of this. The screen shot printed here shows this pro-
cess. If no battery is connected, the LED flashes, an
appropriate message appears on the screen, and an
audible signal alerts you to the error.
7. SCREEN DISPLAYS DURING A PROCESS
7.1 DISPLAYS DURING CHARGE AND DISCHARGE PROCESSES
Once the selected process has started, the screen swit-
ches to the working display, which shows all the essenti-
al values for the process currently in hand; the red Status
LED also lights up. The screen shot printed here shows a
working display for a charge process in normal mode.
The working display is divided into two screen pages; tur-
ning the ‘3-D hotkey’ clockwise calls up the second page,
where you can read off the values shown in this screen
shot. The displayed value for internal resistance is calcu-
lated automatically by the POWER PEAK Infinity 3.
The discharge process takes place in a similar way: when
the charger checks the battery, the screen displays the
message ‘DISCHARGE’. The screen shots printed here
show the first and second pages of the working display
during a dischar
ge process.
Note:
The charge current can be altered while a charge or
dischar
ge process is actually in progress, but any change
you make at that point only applies to the current process,
i.e. it is not stored.
