Model menu
Trim Mix 1 and 2
FX-40
The Trim Mix function first has to be activated in the Status
line. Mark the field, and the same field then displays ‘ON’ or
‘OFF’ instead of ‘INA’ (inactive), according to the position of
the switch.
If you wish, you can set global or separate mode using the
appropriate switch field in the second line.
Use the familiar method to define a switch for triggering the
mixer: mark the appropriate field and define the switch and its
direction of operation in the switch select menu which now
appears. The default is ‘NONE’, i.e. the mixer is always swit-
ched on.
You can also choose to activate the ‘TRIM’ mixer manually
using the selected switch, or by a pre-set position of a particu-
lar transmitter stick. If you prefer automatic mode, you must
first mark the appropriate field. This calls up a menu in which
you can use the familiar procedure to enter your preferred
stick, and the threshold point on the stick arc.
Determining the servo transit speed
The servo transit speed for all three control surface types
(ailer
ons, flaps and elevator) can be pr
ogrammed in a sepa-
rate field, in each case separately for the servo directions
‘there’ and ‘back’. The settings are entered using the tech-
nique which has already been described many times, i.e.
using the arrow buttons.
Fine-tuning
In the switch select menu you can select a transmitter con-
tr
ol or switch for fine-tuning the function. The pr
ocedure for
this has already been adequately covered in this manual.
Determining the delay time
It is possible to program a delay time for switching between
flight modes, so that ther
e is a smooth transition when you
switch modes. First mark the field, then set a delay of up to
27 incr
ements (corresponding to nine seconds) using the
arrow buttons.
If you wish, you can assign a switch which activates and
disables the set delay. This means that you can call up eit-
her type of transition - abrupt or smooth - when you switch
between flight phases. The method of selecting the switch
is the same as always.
There is a second programming level to the Trim Mix function:
in this sub-menu the ‘Trim Mix’ settings can be entered for all
the wing control surfaces: up to four ailerons, two brake flaps,
two camber-changing flaps, as well as the elevators.
The display for the second programming level looks like this:
An Offset value can be entered separately for each control sur-
face, by marking the appropriate field and then entering the
required value using the arrow buttons. The adjustment range
is +250% to -250%; the default setting is 0%. Pressing the
Reset’ field restores the default setting.
The same technique is employed to set the Trim (Tuning). The
adjustment range is +100% to -100%; the default value is 0%.
In each case the sum of both percentage values is displayed in
brackets below the two adjustment fields, making proper allo-
wance for the set prefixes
The screen shot below shows a sensible programming set-up
for the Trim Mix 1 function.
Finally, please note that the programming options and the
actual appearance of the screen display may vary slightly
according to the model type and wing type you have selected.
