6. Notes on Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
• Keepbatteries/rechargeablebatteriesoutofthereachofchildren.
• Donotleaveanybatteries/rechargeablebatterieslyingaroundopenly.Thereisa
risk of batteries being swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor
immediately.
• Replaceatbatteries/rechargeablebatteriesintime,sinceatortoo-oldbatteries/
rechargeable batteries may leak.
• Leakingordamagedbatteries/rechargeablebatteriescancausechemicalburnsto
skin. Wear suitable protective gloves when handling them.
• Liquidsleakingfrombatteries/rechargeablebatteriesarechemicallyhighlyaggres-
sive. Objects or surfaces that come into contact with them may take severe damage.
Therefore, keep batteries/rechargeable batteries in a suitable location.
• Batteries/rechargeablebatteriesmustnotbeshort-circuited,disassembledorthrown
into fire. There is a danger of explosion!
• Donotrechargenormal,non-rechargeablebatteries;dangerofexplosion!
• Alwaysreplacethewholesetofbatteries/rechargeablebatteries.Donotmixbatter-
ies/rechargeable batteries with dierent condition (e.g. fully and partially charged
batteries).
• Useeitherbatteriesorrechargeablebatteries;nevermixbatterieswithrechargeable
batteries. Always use batteries/rechargeable batteries of the same build, type and
manufacturer.
• Ensurethatthepolarityiscorrectwheninsertingthebatteries/rechargeablebatteries
(observe plus/+ and minus/-).
Itispossibletooperatetheproductwithrechargeablebatteries.However,the
lower voltage (battery = 1.5 V, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V) causes the operat-
ing duration and display contrast to reduce strongly. Rechargeable batteries
are also very cold-sensitive, which further reduces the operating time of the
outdoor sensors.
Therefore, we recommend using only high-quality alkaline batteries instead of
rechargeable batteries for operation.
