Power Saving Efficiency
AllREL Sub-BassSystemsaredesigned formaximumpower efficiency,both whenpassing asignalthrough
toitsresultantoutput soundintothe room andalsowhen silent.
RELcircuitryis designedfor“powerstarvaon”operaonunderno signalcondions.This meansthat
immediately whenthereisa gapin thesignal theRELis instantlyatmaximumpowersavingefficiency,yet
remainsatmaximumreadinesstorespondimmediatelytoa suddentransientsignal, suchas anexplosion
ina movie,evenaera longquiet periodandregardlessof level.
Thiscomparestosome “autopoweron/offsystems”whichremainpoweredupfora setperiod ofno-signal
condion(upto 10-15minutes)and whichneedtopower-upon receiptof asudden transient,thus failing
tocatchthe startof thattransient.Thereis alsothe possibilityofthe unitremaininginoperaveduring
listening sessionswheretheoverallvolume islow.
Itis notnecessary toswitchoff betweenlisteningsessions –itwill notsignificantlyshortenits lifeby
leavingit switchedon. Onthe otherhand, itwillnot harmsound qualityifit isalwaysswitchedoff. The
powerconsumponinthe quiescent(nosignal) stateisnegligible.
Itis perfectlysafeunder allnormal domesccircumstancesas itis fullyprotectedby internalfuses andan
external mainsfusein thefuse holderofthe mainsinput socket,witha spareinside thisholder.
