andappropriatevolumeadjustmentsmade usingthe .1/LFElevelcontrol.Forthis configuraon,youmust
settheprocessorto the“large”or “fullrange”sengfortheleand rightspeakersinorderfortheREL to
receivethe basssignal viathehigh-levelcable. Inthisconfiguraon,the RELprovidessupport forboth the
leandrightspeakersfortwo-channellisteningandsupportfortheLFE whenmoviesareplaying.Most
processorswill allowyoutodefeatthe subwoofer outputwhen listeningin thetwo-channelmode. The
effectof thisset-upis oneof greatlyincreaseddynamics inthemid-bass range,no bassbloatand agreater
degreeofspace andmingfromthe specialaudio effects.

5.1standardbass performance. RELTheaterReference3DBass™ producestrue fullrangeperformance
fromthe threeprimaryzonesof reproduconin theatersound resulngina farmorenaturalandimmer-
siveexperiencethananysinglesub canproduce.
1 Themainleand rightspeakersshouldbeconnectedtothe primaryREL usingREL TheaterReference
connecon.Thisunit formsthe foundaonof yourtheatersystem’sperformanceand soshouldbe
perfectlymatchedtoone’s mainspeakers.
2 Intherearcorner(ideally thatwhichis oppositethe primarysub), connectasecond RELtothe rear
speakersusing RELTheaterReferenceconnecvity. Thepurposeof therearchannel REListo ensure
properfront-to-rear balanceandweight;toooenvirtually allthe powerand weightin atheatercomes
fromthe front anditproducesunnaturalweighngas wellashot spots.Byplacing arearREL diagonally
opposite,basstransectsthe roomon atangentandhas theeffectof greatly smoothingoverallin-room
responseofyourRELs. Thisunit neednotbe aduplicateofyourprimary REL;insteaditshould match
wellwithyoursurroundspeakers.
3 ConnectathirdREL tothecenterchannelusing onlythe HIGH-LEVELconnecon.This may beeasily
