Tips for precise and reliable
temperature measurement
· Before each measurement, ensure that the sensor is clean. If it is not, please
clean the device as described on page 21.
· Vasoconstricve medicaon may aect the measuring value..
· Portable and mobile communicaon devices may aect the device.
· Wait for at least 30 minutes before measuring aer doing sports or exercise,
aer a bath or aer a meal.
· If possible, only use the thermometer indoors, not outdoors. External inuen-
ces such as wind and the outside temperature can aect the measuring result.
· If the device has been in an environment with extreme temperatures, keep it at
room temperature for at least one hour before measuring.
· If the thermometer is held in your hand for too long before measuring, the
device heats up. This can aect the measuring result.
· This thermometer has been designed to measure the body temperature at the
temple or in the ear. If you measure at another part of the body, the measuring
data may be inaccurate.
Measuring body temperature
Measuring at the temple
The body temperature is measured above the eyebrow between the forehead
and the temple.
The baeries included must not be recharged or reacvated by other
means, may not be disassembled, exposed to re or short-circuited.
Remove the baeries from the device if it is not used for a long period
of me.
Make sure the temples are free of dirt and cosmecs. Avoid measuring
on possibly exisng scars.

Measuring in the ear
To ensure precise temperature measurement in the ear, the
sensor p must point towards the eardrum in the ear canal.
Due to the curvature of the ear canal within the ear, the ear
must be pulled slightly upwards and back for measuring, so
that the sensor p points directly towards the eardrum.
Note: In infants under six months of age, the eardrum is sll so narrow that the
temperature of the eardrum oen cannot be determined, which oen results
in excessively low measurements. We therefore recommend measuring the
temperature of infants under 6 months at the temple.
Cauon: Do not measure the temperature in the ear in case of inammatory
illnesses (e.g. inammaon of the middle ear), aer possible ear injury (e.g.
damaged eardrums) or during post-operave recovery periods. If any of these
cases apply, please consult your physician.

Liquids should be measured outside the container, if possible, to avoid the deposion
of moisture on the sensor.

If the device registers an increased body temperature, the body tempera-
ture should be constantly monitored and a physician should be consulted
if the paent‘s condion is unclear.
Make sure the ear is free of moisture and earwax.
