6. POSITIONING, ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION
6.1. Positioning the stove with floor support (Standard supply
for 900 Flat and 901 Ducted, optional for 700,650, 550, 500).
The positioning of the stove is decisive for successful even heating
of the room. Before deciding where to place the stove, the following
must be taken into account:
The stove must be installed on a floor with a sufficient carrying ca-
pacity. If the existing building does not meet this requisite, appropri-
ate measures must be taken (i.e. load distribution plate).
The combustion air cannot be obtained from a garage or from an
area without ventilation or exchange of air, but from a free or exter-
nal space.
The stove must not be installed in a bedroom.
Installation is better in a large and central room in the house to en-
sure maximum circulation of the heat.
Connection to the mains supply is recommended using an earth
socket (if the cable supplied is not long enough to reach the nearest
socket, use an extension flush with the ground).
IMPORTANT GENERAL RULES
1.
It is obligatory to create an initial vertical section of 1.5 mt min. to
guarantee the correct expulsion of smoke.
2.
The pipes must be connected to each other with the male connec-
tor turned downwards to guarantee the smoke and condensation
seal through the gasket.
3.
Horizontal sections must never be more than 3 metres long and
the slope must never be less than 3-5%.
4.
The smoke discharge pipe fitting MUST NOT BE CONNECTED to
a flue used by other generators (stoves, chimneys, boilers..) and
to air extraction systems (HOODS, BREATHER PIPES etc...).
5.
The use of draught adjustment/interruption valves is banned.
Where there is poor or excessive draught in the flue, variations
must be made to the stove’s operating parameters. Contact the
Ecoteck authorised technical assistance centre.
Installation in an existing ue:
This type of installation (see Fig. 9) does not require an insulated
flue, since part of the smoke duct has been mounted inside the home
and part of it inside an already existing flue.
Two 45° pipe fittings are fitted in the middle part of the discharge;
you are advised not to install two 90° elbows since ashes would soon
block the flow of smoke, causing problems for the stove’s draught.
(see Fig. 10).
N.B.: The flue for discharging smoke must be made in observ-
ance of UNI 9615-9731, UNI 10683 - EN1856-1 standards both
with regard to the measurements and the materials used for
construction. Dilapidated flues, built with unsuitable material
(asbestos cement, zinc-plated steel etc..), can jeopardise the
