INSTALLATION IN THE CAR
4.1 GPS ANTENNA
GPS signals are received through the external GPS antenna. It is important to choose the best
location for it, so that the GPS signal is received loud and clear. The following elements should be
taken into consideration:
The antenna is to be placed at least 50 cm away from the ALERTER.
The antenna has to be placed in an (almost) horizontal position with a clear view to the sky.
The antenna is to be placed at the outside of the car for optimal reception. For several cars (that
have metal film in the windshield) a proper reception inside the car is impossible.
The antenna is to be placed on a metal part, so as to be able to use the incorporated magnet.
Once the antenna is placed, the power socket of the antenna cable is to be plugged into the ‘ANT-Port’.
