Locking the SIM card
You can protect your Pocket PC Phone from unauthorized use by requiring a PIN (Personal
Identication Number) in conjunction with phone usage. Your rst PIN is assigned by your
operator. To enable or change it:
1. In the Phone Dialer screen, select Tools menu > Options > Phone tab.
2. Select Require PIN when phone is used.
3. To change the PIN at any time, tap Change PIN.
3.10 VoiceDial
VoiceDial is a voice-activated interface that enables you to use your voice to call Contacts,
or dial a phone number on your Pocket PC Phone. This application is not pre-installed in
the ROM of your Pocket PC Phone. Rather, it is located on the Application CD that came
with your Pocket PC Phone when you bought it. You can choose whether or not you want
to install VoiceDial from the Application CD.
If you choose to install VoiceDial to the default location, it will be placed in the Programs
group of your Pocket PC Phone, and you can launch it by selecting
Start menu
> Programs
> Voice Apps folder > VoiceDial. Or alternatively, you can manually assign a launch button
using
Start menu
> Settings > Buttons. After that, you can invoke VoiceDial by pressing
the designated button on your Pocket PC Phone. Refer to Chapter 5 for detailed information
about the Buttons settings.
After launching VoiceDial, it will say "Call a contact or dial a number ?" After you hear
that prompt, VoiceDial will play a single beep indicating that the microphone is on, and in
"listening" mode. A blue volume meter will also be displayed when the microphone is on.
NOTE: If there are currently no contact entries at all in your Pocket Contacts, VoiceDial will
say “What number?” when invoked.
When VoiceDial is in listening mode, you should say one of the following commands:
Call (name)
Dial a number
Quit” or “Goodbye
Do not speak until you hear the single beep sound and/or see the blue volume meter.
Speaking too soon will cause recognition problems.
