tion and prevent an unwanted start-up. When the
machine is turned off, an electric brake activates
and signi cantly shortens the run-down time of
the chain.
Do not remove the machine from the cutting piece
until the chain is at a standstill.
9.2 Controlling chain and guide bar
lubrication
The quantity of lubricating oil can be controlled
using a feed pump [5-2]. When you press the feed
pump, [5-2] the 0, 1, 2 and MAX positions can be
set at a notch [5-1]. Position 0 ensures minimum
lubrication for clean cuts, but must not be used
permanently, and after such cuts the chain and
plate must be lubricated with an increased quan-
tity. For permanent operation the quantity should
be set to level 2 and MAX.
9.3 Cut indicator
When cutting without the guide rail, adjust the
chain’s internal cutting plane using all of the indi-
cators on the guide runner:
- Indicator 0° [4-1] for rectangular cuts
- For bevel cuts:
indicator 45° [4-4]
indicator 60° [4-5]
To determine the chain’s external cutting plane,
use cutting pro le indicators [4-6].
For cutting with the guide rail (GRP 800/1400/
3000-2; Fig. [8]), adjust the chain’s inner cutting
plane using only cut indicator 0° [4-1].
9.4 Guide ruler
Slide the guide ruler [1-3] into the holders in the
runner [1-6] and secure it with the hand screws
[1-5]. The guide ruler allows parallel cuts along
an even edge.
9.5 Exhaust
CAUTION!
Inhaled dust may damage respiratory organs.
During dusty jobs, wear a respiratory mask
and have the machine connected to exhaust
equipment.
To exhaust sawdust or dust, ordinary vacuum
cleaner suction hoses can be connected to the
opening of the rotary exhaust adaptor [1-10].
10 Using accessories
On the bottom part of the suction runner, the ma-
chine has a longitudinal groove for mounting on
the guide rail. Thus larger dimensions can be made
more easily and more precisely.
10.1 The PROTOOL guide system
When cutting larger work pieces, and to achieve ac-
curate angled cuts, use of the GRP 800/1400/3000-2
guide system is recommended for easy and safe
handling.
This allows clean cuts by accurately guiding the
machine along a marked edge. Hard anodising of
the guide bar makes moving the machine even
easier, thus reducing the necessary slide force,
and at the same time makes for a better working
procedure. The saw runner’s side clearance can be
adjusted using the distance screws in the auxiliary
handles [6-1].
10.2 Assembling the guide rail
(GRP 800/1400/3000-2)
The guide rail [7-1] is assembled using spe cial
clamps CL-GRP 300 [7-2] or GRP-Rapid/L [7-5]
to be inserted into the guide grooves designed for
this particular purpose (Fig. [7a]). This allows a
secure hold on uneven surfaces. Anti-slip strips are
attached to the bottom of the guide bar, providing
safe placement and preventing scratches to the
material surface.
CAUTION!
If you cut with a tilted saw, the tool and the
clamp bolt with the gripper or with GRP-Rapid/L
may collide.
Tilt the saw at such an angle only to avoid
collision of the chain with the clamp.
10.3 Assembling the angle guide
(GRP-AG-2)
The combination of the guide rail and the continu-
ously adjustable angle unit [7-3] allows accurate
angular cuts, e. g., for matching ts. Mount the
angle unit as shown in Fig. [7b]. You can set the
required cutting angle on the bevel indicator.
10.4 Assembling the connector
(CN-GRP)
Depending on the use and size of the work piece,
multiple guide rails can be jointed together us-
ing a connecting spring [7-4] (Fig. [7c]). For rm
connection of multiple guide rails the links can be
af xed using the screws in the correspondingly
threaded openings.
10.5 Assembling the quick clamp
(GRP-Rapid/L)
The guide rail can be mounted quickly using this
device [7-5] slipped into the bottom groove. A
rm mount is achieved by pressing the trigger,
and release is achieved by pressing the stopping
button.
CAUTION!
If you cut with the saw at an incline, the tool and
the quick clamp handle may collide.
The handle of the quick clamp must be turned
to the left towards the material after tighten-
ing, thus preventing the collision even at the
maximum tilt of 60°.
