UTENSILIOS DE COCINA
Deberán comprobarse los utensilios para cerciorarse de que son adecuados
para su uso en hornos microondas.
1. El material ideal de los utensilios aptos para su uso en hornos microondas
deberá ser permeable a la frecuencia de microondas utilizada para este tipo
de hornos; es decir, que deberá permitir pasar a la energía de microondas a
través del envase y calentar así los alimentos.
2. La frecuencia de microondas no puede penetrar el metal; por lo tanto no
deberá utilizarse en este tipo de hornos utensilios de metal o vajilla con
bordes metálicos.
3. No utilice productos de papel reciclado al cocinar con el microondas ya que
pueden contener pequeños fragmentos metálicos que podrían dar lugar a
chispas y/o provocar un incendio en la cavidad del horno.
4. Se recomienda la utilización de platos y bandejas redondas u ovaladas el
lugar de cuadradas o rectangulares; esto se debe a que los alimentos
acumulados en las esquinas tienden a cocinarse en exceso.
5. Podrán utilizarse tiras estrechas de papel aluminio para evitar que aquellas
zonas expuestas de los alimentos se cocinen en exceso. No obstante,
deberá evitarse utilizar demasiado papel aluminio y asegurarse de
mantener una distancia de 2,54 cm (1 pulgada) entre el papel aluminio y las
paredes de la cavidad del horno.
