Switching on appliance
• To switch on the appliance,
press the On/Off button (9).
It is located at the rear of the
steam generator iron (b).
The indicator light (15) will
come on to indicate that the
appliance is connected to the
power. The low steam light
(18) will flash to indicate that
the water is heating up for
steam ironing.
Switching off appliance
1. Always place the steam iron (a)
firmly on the thermal rest (6) of
the steam generator iron (b).
2. To switch off the appliance,
press and hold the On/Off
button (9) for 3 seconds.
The indicator light (15) will go
out.
3. Pull the mains plug out of the
socket.
4. Allow all components of the
steam generator iron to cool
down completely before you
store the steam generator
iron away.
The steam iron has an automatic
switch-off function. If it is not used
for 10 minutes, it switches off au-
tomatically.
Removing
manufacturing residue
Before using the steam iron gen-
erator to iron your garments, you
should iron a dispensable textile
to remove all manufacturing resi-
dues from the steam iron.
1. Turn the temperature control
dial (3) to the highest setting.
Once the highest temperature
setting is reached, the iron set-
ting light will go out (4). Once
the water is heated, the low
steam light (18) will come on
permanently.
2. Iron a soft textile for a few
minutes to iron out any man-
ufacturing residue from the
soleplate (5).
3. Generate steam by pressing
and holding the steam but-
ton (2).
The steam iron (a) may
develop an odour during
initial use. This is not an appli-
ance fault. The smell will disap-
pear shortly.
