NFC
Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short-range wireless technology that's designed for
transferring data quickly. You can use NFC technology to exchage files between your tablet and
other NFC-enabled devices simply by tapping their backs together. You can also use this feature
to make payments and buy tickets for transportation or events after downloading the required
applications.
The back cover contains a built-in NFC antenna. Handle the back cover carefully to avoid
damaging the NFC antenna.
Turn on NFC and Android Beam
1. On the Home screen or list menu, tap Settings.
2. Tap More... > NFC to turn on NFC.
3. Tap Android Beam, drag the switch to the right to turn on Android Beam.
Create a task for an NFC tag
Tap NFC Task Launcher or Tagstand Writer in the list menu, and follow the on-screen insturctions
to create a task for your NFC tag.
For example: when you want to go to sleep, instead of enabling silent mode, setting alarm, turning
Wi-Fi off, etc., you just need to create a tag task including these actions.
Read info from an NFC tag
Tap your device against an NFC tag, your device will read its information, and then launch or apply
the relevant apps or settings.
Make a purchase with the NFC feature
Before you can use the NFC feature to make payments, you must register for the mobile payment
service. To register or get details about the service, contact your service provider. Touch the back
of your device to the NFC card reader.
Send data via Android Beam
Turn on NFC and Android Beam for both devices, keep the devices unlocked and then use Android
Beam to share data, such as web pages, videos and contacts.
1. Tap Settings > More... > NFC > Android Beam, and drag the switch to the right to turn on An-
droid Beam.
2. Open the content you want to share on your tablet.
3. Place your devices back to back and you will hear a sound.
4. When Touch to beam appears, touch your tablet’s screen to start beaming.
