▪ To add engine oil, remove the attachment from the power head and place of a flat, level
surface.
▪ Unscrew the oil filler cap.
▪ Slowly pour 60 ml of semi-synthetic 4 stroke SAE 10W30 engine oil into the crank case
until it reaches the top of the oil fill hole. DO NOT overfill. Overfilling the crankcase may
cause excessive smoke, oil loss and engine damage. (Fig. 14)
▪ If you do overfill, drain the oil in to a suitable container.
▪ Replace the oil filler cap and tighten securely.
12.5 Transport
▪ For transport, do not overfill the fuel tank.
▪ If the machine has been used, allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes before loading it in to
the transport vehicle.
▪ To prevent fuel spillage, the machine should be secured upright in its normal working
position.
▪ If transporting over rough terrain, remove all the fuel from the fuel tank.
▪ DO NOT drop or strike the machine when transporting.
▪ DO NOT place heavy objects on top of the machine.
12.6 Storage
▪ The following steps should be taken if you store the machine for more than 30 days:
- Drain all the fuel from the fuel tank into a suitable container.
- Remove the maintenance cover to gain access to the carburettor.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ‘ON’ position and loosen the carburettor drain screw to
allow the fuel in the carburettor to drain into a suitable container.
- Remove the spark plug HT lead cap and pull the recoil starter handle three to four times
to remove all the fuel from the fuel lines.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ‘OFF’ position and tighten the carburettor drain plug screw.
- Change the engine oil following the procedure in 12.4.
- Remove the spark plug and pour a tablespoon of fresh engine oil down the cylinder bore.
- Pull the recoil starter handle three to four times to distribute the oil along the cylinder
bore, then refit the spark plug.
▪ Store in a dry place away from sources of ignition.
▪ Do not stack items on top of the grass trimmer.
