and enter into Dual Watch mode. The DU icon will appear on the
LCD display.
NOTE: During Tri Watch mode, SCAN, MEM, BAND and Up or Down
key are inactive and will sound an error beep when pressed.
12. RESETTING THE RADIO
You can reset any radio settings back to the factory default settings.
Resetting the radio will:
Erase any channel stored in memory.
Return to international channels, if another mode is currently selected
at the time of reset. - Return power settings to their original state.
To reset the radio:
Turn the radio off by rotating PWR/VOL knob to the OFF position.
Simultaneously press and hold both SCAN and BAND keys then...
Then turn on the radio, continue to hold the SCAN and BAND keys
down for 3 seconds, then release both keys.
13. BURP FEATURE
BURP feature allows the operator to expel water from in side the
speaker grill. This is especially useful if the radio is dropped over-
board or during extreme foul weather conditions. In these condi-
tions, water can become trapped in the speaker grill and mufe the
audio. To Activate BURP:
Press and hold the 16 and DW/TRI keys for 2 seconds.
The BURP tone(s) at maximum level will sound from the internal
speaker for 10 seconds.
Hold the radio with the speaker grill down to help the water drain
out.
At the end of the 10 seconds timer, it will automatically cancel the
BURP feature.
14. FLOATING RADIO
Floating Radio this radio is designed to oat if dropped overboard.
The orange center makes it visible and easy to retrieve.
This rugged radio is also designed to meet JIS7 (IPX7) specications
this means it’s designed to operate properly after being submerged
in one meter deep water for 30 minutes.
