Loud(ness) Max(imizer)

Dit is een zeer speciaal effect. U kunt het gebruiken om het gemiddelde vo-

lume van een opname te vergroten.

Stel, u hebt een track opgenomen die muziek met een breed dynamisch be-

reik bevat. Dat wil zeggen, de muziek bevat een aantal zeer luide gedeelten,

maar ook zeer lage gedeelten. Tijdens het opnemen moet u zeer voorzichtig

zijn dat de paar luide pieksignalen geen vervorming veroorzaken.

Nu hoort u dat, vergeleken met de pieken, de rest van de muziek niet luid

genoeg is. Probeer Loud Max uit om de verschillende niveaus op één niveau

te brengen. Het materiaal zal hierdoor dichter klinken.

Waar en hoe u dit effect moet toepassen hangt geheel af van de soort mu-

ziek en uw smaak. Maakt een breed dynamisch bereik deel uit van het muzi-

kale karakter van een opname, zoals dat vaak het geval is bij klassieke

muziek, dan kunt u Loud Max beter niet of maar heel weinig gebruiken.
