Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for

- Do not immerse the mixer in water nor rinse it under the tap.

- Check if the voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance

responds to the local mains voltage before you connect the
appliance.
- Do not use the appliance if the mains cord, the plug or other parts are
damaged.
- If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips, a

- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)

Caution
- Always insert the beaters or the kneading hooks into the mixer before

- Do not let the appliance run for more than 10 minutes without
inter
ruption. If you want to process large quantities of ingredients, let
the appliance cool down rst before you continue.
- Do not clean the plastic accessories of this appliance in the dishwasher.
They are not dishwasher proof.
- Do not use a beater and a kneading hook or two different types of
beater
s to mix or knead ingredients.
Electromagnetic elds (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic
elds (EMF). If handled properly and according to the instructions in this
user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scienti c evidence
available today.
Using the appliance
The rotating bowl is especially suitable for large quantities. If you want to
process small quantities, we advise you to use a small bowl and hold the
mixer with your hand.
Mixing without the stand
1 Insert the beaters or kneading hooks into the mixer (‘click’). If
necessary, slightly turn the beaters or kneading hooks while you do
this (Fig. 2) .
Note: Insert the beater with the plastic collar into the small opening or insert
the kneading hook with the plastic ring into the larger opening.
2 Put the plug in the wall socket.
3 Lower the beaters or kneading hooks into the ingredients (Fig. 3)
Note: If you want to stop mixing for a while, switch off the mixer and put it,
with the beaters or kneading hooks still attached, on its heel until you continue.
4 When you have nished mixing, switch off the appliance and remove
the plug from the wall socket.
5 Press the eject button to release the beaters or kneading hooks and
remove them from the mixer (Fig. 4) .
Mixing on the stand
1 Place the mixer on the stand and slide it backwards. (Fig. 5)
2 Press the release lever and tilt the holder with the mixer
backwards (Fig. 6) .
3 Insert the beaters or kneading hooks into the mixer (‘click’). If
necessary, slightly turn the beaters or kneading hooks while you do
this (Fig. 7) .
Note: Insert the beater with the plastic collar into the small opening or insert
the kneading hook with the plastic ring into the larger opening.
4 Put the plug in the wall socket.
5 Put the ingredients in the bowl.
- For the best results,
rst put liquid ingredients in the bowl and then add
dry ingredients.
6 Place the bowl on the stand. (Fig. 8)
7 Put the holder with the mixer on it into horizontal position. This
lowers the beaters or kneading hooks into the ingredients (Fig. 9) .
8 Switch on the mixer.
9 When you have nished mixing, switch off the appliance and remove
the plug from the wall socket.
10 Tilt the holder with the mixer backwards (Fig. 10) .
11 Press the ejector button to release the beaters or kneading hooks
and remove them from the mixer (Fig. 11) .
12 Remove the bowl. (Fig. 12)
Tips
- Use kneading hooks to prepare yeast dough, shortbread dough and
minced meat.
Select speed 2 or 3 when you use the kneading hooks to
mince meat.
- Use the beaters to mix batters for pancakes, waf
es, biscuits, puff
pastries etc., to mix cake mixtures, creams, toppings, instant puddings,
eggs or egg whites, to puree potatoes and to whip whipping cream.
Start at speed 1 to prevent splashing. Then continue processing at speed
2 or 3. Use speed 3 for an airy result, especially with egg whites.
- Use the M-position of the speed selector to get more control over the
process.
You can use the M-position for jobs that require precision, e.g.
whipping cream that is almost ready.
Cleaning
Danger: Do not immerse the mixer in water nor rinse it under the tap.
Caution: Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive
liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.
Caution: Do not clean the plastic accessories of this appliance in the
dishwasher. They are not dishwasher proof.
1 Pour some water with a few drops of washing-up liquid into the bowl
after use. Switch on the mixer and let it run for a little while.
2 Switch off and unplug the mixer.
3 Remove the beaters or the kneading hooks and clean them in
warm water with some washing-up liquid.
Note: The beaters and the kneading hooks can also be cleaned in the
dishwasher.
4 Clean the outside of the mixer, the stand and the holder with a soft
damp cloth.
