Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of a colour
television
from
our range.
It is a very modern set
with
many facilities and
the best way to get to know them is to read
through
the Operating Instructions carefully.
If the set has already been adjusted by your
dealer,
the main section of interest to you Is
'Operating the TV' (see page 3).
Please
note that when we speak about
programme numbers we mean the numbers
which you yourself allocate to the stations in
the sequence 1, 2, 3, etc.
Guarantee
Your
television set is guaranteed. Your dealer
can
give you more Information about all the
guarantee conditions.
Positioning
the TV
To
obtain a picture
with
good
contrast,
position your TV in such a way that no direct
sunlight or lamplight strikes the
screen.
When viewing in the evening it is preferable to
switch on subdued
lighting
for otherwise the
picture will be too
bright.
Ventilation
To
prevent overheating ensure that the
ventilation apertures in your TV are not
covered.
Never
place your TV close to a heat source.
Building in
If you intend to
build
the TV
into
a cupboard
or wall
unit,
a
space
of no
less
than 3 cm
must be
left
around the TV to prevent
overheating.
If this is not possible, openings must be cut ih
the boards of the cupboard or wall
unit
(above
and below the ventilation slots of your TV).
Connecting
the aerial
A
combined
VHF/UHF
aerial should be
connected to the
input
marked ir (rear panel
of
TV)
with
coaxial cable and an appropriate
plug.
If you do not have this type of cable or plug
consult your dealer. He can supply a special
adapter.
Telescopic
aerial
Place
the plug in the aerial socket ir in the
rear
panel, extend the aerial and direct it.
The
telescopic aerial is attached to the top
right
of the rear panel as
seen
from
the
front.
Connection
to the mains
You
can connect your TV to a mains voltage
of 220 V/50 Hz.
If the mains voltage in your home is different
from
this, consult your dealer.
Remote control
The
remote control gives commands to the
TV
by means of invisible infrared
light
signals.
The
front
of the remote control should
therefore be
pointed
towards the TV.
Press
one
button
firmly for each command and
never
give two commands at once.
The
remote control
unit
operates
from
batteries.
To
insert the batteries in the remote control
unit,
see the instructions 'Inserting the
batteries' on page 6.
