Vor

ersten

dem
auf

Rück
seite
des
Maschinenkopfes
befindlichen
Hand
hebel
hochgestellt,
odor
durch
Bettitigen
des
Kniehebeis,
angehoben
werden.

notes
This
instruction
book
applies
to
both

aff
245
and
the
Pfaff
1245.
To
avoid
trouble
or
damage
it
is
absolutely
neces
sary
to
observe
the
following
instructions:
Before
you
put
the
machine
into
operation
for
the
first
time
clean
it
thoroughly,
remove
all
dust
which
has
accumulated
on
it
in
transit
and
oil
it
well
(see
pages
4
and
6>.
Check
to
make
sure
the
line
voltage
agrees
with
the
voltage
indicated
on
the
motor
rating
plate.
If
it
does
not,
be
sure
not
to
plug
in
the
machine.
Make
sure
that
finger,
take-up
lever
and
belt
guards
are
properly
fitted
(see
pages
22
and
23).
The
balance
wheel
should
always
rotate
to
ward
you.
If
it
does
not,
exchange
the
wires
on
the
motor.
Use
the
specified
needle
system
only
(see
page
8).
Clean
the
machine
regularly
(see
pages
16
and
19).
Before
you
start
sewing
check
the
oil
level
in
the
hook
lubrication
system
(see
page
6).
Make
sure
you
observe
the
oiling
instructions.
Never
start
the
machine
unless
there
is
a
piece
of
fabric
under
the
presser
foot.
To
remove
the
work,
always
bring
the
take-up
lever
to
its
highest
position.
During
the
first
two
weeks
of
operation
run
the
machine
at
3/4
of
its
top
speed
only.
If
work
is
interrupted
for
a
longer
time
or
main
tenance
or
repair
work
has
to
be
carried
out,
make
absolutely
sure
to
switch
off
or
unplug
the
machine.
Raising
the
presser
foot
The
presser
foot
can
be
raised
by
means
of
the
hand
lever
at
the
back
of
the
machine
head
or
by
operating
the
knee
lever.
