»Assemble the bike carrier with care and strictly in accordance with the
instructions provided inside the pack;
»Check the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions regarding the
permissible roof load and the roof bars manufacturer’s instruc-
tions regarding its load capacity;
»Secure the bike to the clamp and fasten the wheels with the supplied straps
only (see enclosed instructions);
»The rst time you use the carrier, after driving a few kilometres check that the
product is properly secured by checking the tension of the straps; repeat this
operation at regular intervals while in transit; the driver is responsible for the
load being transported;
»Make sure that the bikes or parts of them, such as the handlebars or pedals,
do not protrude beyond the extreme width of either side or end of the vehicle;
»The load is safely secured; the use of bungee cords is not permitted;
»If the bicycles have carbon forks or frames, check with the bike manufacturer
or reseller if they are suitable for transporting on a bike carrier;
»The bike carrier is designed to carry only bikes with standard frames. Tandem
bikes cannot be carried on the carrier unless specically designed for that
purpose. Always check that your bike frame does not exceed the maximum
size (diameter) specied in the assembling instructions;
»DO NOT exceed the maximum load of the carrier specied in the assembling
instructions;
»The driver of the vehicle is solely responsible for ensuring that the bike carrier
is in perfect condition and for securing both the carrier and the load (even if
assembled by another person);
»When the car is in motion, there may be a noise caused by the wind and
which can vary depending on the vehicle and the load;
»For key lock products, once the product is locked remove the keys and store
them in a safe place;
»To ensure that the key will be replaced in the shortest possible time in the
event of loss or defects, write the lock and/or key number on the instruction
leaet;
»Use the product solely for its intended purpose and the maximum load must
not exceed the weight specied in the pack and in the instructions; take
special care when driving as the load alters the distribution of weight on the
car axles as foreseen by the manufacturer of the vehicle;
»More attention is required when driving a vehicle with a bike carrier mounted
on it, particularly when braking, driving around curves, in windy conditions,
etc.; it is strongly recommended to slow to a safe speed, particularly before
entering a curve, and to increase the safe distance;
»Drive smoothly, avoid abrupt braking or rapid acceleration;
»Do not use the bike carrier on dirt roads, watch out for bumps, potholes, and
speed humps;
»At all times be aware of the increased side, rear and upper dimensions of the
vehicle with the bike carrier mounted on it when driving, manoeuvring and
reversing;
»Be aware of the height clearance, particularly when approaching garages,
tunnels, branches, etc
» When transporting bikes remove all accessories such as child seats, baskets,
rain covers or other elements that could create air resistance;
»Make sure that the load, in particular pedals and handlebars, does not
overhang the width of the vehicle; the load must not project too far from the
front or rear of the load area; it is, in any case, always necessary to respect the
maximum projection permitted by the road rules of the country in which the
carrier is used;
»Check and comply with the current road rules in the country you are driving
in before using the carrier;
»Take care when opening the boot: parts of the bike that touch the car could
damage the bodywork;
»Always check that the toothed fasteners, if present, and the safety straps are
secure; if any component of the bike carrier is worn and/or damaged replace
it immediately;
»Do not drive around with the bike carrier mounted on the vehicle if not
carrying any bikes; when not in use, always remove it from the vehicle and
store it in a dry, sheltered place;
»Use the carrier only if it is in perfect condition (check the tightness of the bolts,
check the condition of the straps, check all parts for wear and/or damage,
etc.).
»Regularly wash the bike carrier with warm water or car shampoo, especially
after you have used it in coastal areas (salt water eect) or if you have driven
on roads with salt on them (in winter);
»Remove the carrier before going through an automatic car wash;
»It is recommended to use the safety strap on the frame clamp as shown in the
photo (if specically required by the product instructions).
