MAINTENANCE
Fitting the carbon filter
Place the frame of the start set once. Place
the carbon filter (C, see fig. 5) in the frame in
the way that is shown and fit the filter panels
in the hood. After cleaning the filter panel or
replacing the carbon filter the character G or
C on the display will dissapear by pressing
either switch (3) or switch (4) for more than 10
seconds.
Changing the light bulbs
Halogen lighting
See fig. 6.
Slide the cath (1) in the direction indicated
and fold the cover (2) downwards. Pull the
bulb (3) in the direction of the arrow and out of
the holder, then fit the new bulb.
Strip lighting
See fig. 7.
Remove the filter grille (1) and (if present) the
active carbon filter. Unfasten the two Torx
screws on both sides of the extractor hood
and remove the frame and the glass. Replace
the fluorescent tube.
Cleaning
Cooker hood
Clean the cooker hood with soapy water and a
soft cloth, then wipe with clean water to rinse.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents such
as soda. The cooker hood paintwork will stay
looking nice if you wax it occasionally.
Stainless steel canopy hoods
Do not use any sort of scourer. Treat with
Stahlfix (supermarket) and polish with the
structure of the stainless steel.
Filters
Wash aluminium filters, every week in
soapy water. The cleaning agents will
make the aluminium filter turn dull, this is
normal.
The carbon filters cannot be cleaned to use
again.
Use
See fig. 1 and 2.
After installation
When the hood is switched on for the first
time, it runs through a phase of reset and self-
checking. At the end of this phase a stand-by
phase will be reached: motor and lamps will
be switched off and teh display will show its
lower segment.
Switching on
The hood is switched on by pressing switch
(1). The motor will not run and the display will
show 0. The motor is set in motion by pressing
button (4) , the display will show 1.
Change the speed by pressing switch (3) or
(4). The speed is decreased or increased by
one step. Continuous pressure on switches (3)
and (4) at the same time for more than 2 sec-
onds causes the motor to work at its highest
speed for 4 minutes. The display shows a 9
blinking. After that the hood will return to the
stand-by mode.
Switching off
Pressing switch (1) turns the motor off and the
hood will return to its stand-by mode. When
the hood is switched on again, the motor
resumes operation at the previously selected
speed.
Using the hood in recirculation mode
After the reset phase, the motor speed is set
for use in exhaust mode. In order to select the
recirculation mode, the following steps must
be taken: pressing switch (4) in the stand-by
mode shows A on the display. This stands for
selection of the exhaust mode. Pressing
switch (3) and (4) at the same time, while on
stand-by, changes operation to recirculation
mode. The display shows F. Any further press-
ing of switch (3) and (4) at the same time will
select the exhaust mode of operation.
Replacing carbon filters
The carbon filter must be used if the cooker
hood is not connected to a duct (see extrac-
tion systems on page 7).
Note:
The carbon filter must be replaced at least
twice a year, depending on how much the
cooker hood is used.
Carbon filters cannot be cleaned to use
again.
Saturated carbon is harmful to the environ-
ment, replace the filter regularly.
Every time the character G appears on the dis-
play, the filter panel must be cleaned.
Saturation of the carbon filter is shown on the
display by the character C.
Removing the filter panel
Switch off the electricity! Remove the plug
from the socket or switch the electricity off at
the mains. Pull the filter panel down (see
fig. 4).
