The table is only intended as a guideline, because the correct setting depends on the size and
composition of the dish to be prepared and the pan used.
1 Switch the hob to the hightest power (setting 9) only if you want to bring water to the boil.
Setting 9 is too high to heat butter or milk and far too high for defrosting. Setting 8 is for grilling.
This setting is suitable for frying meat.
Cooking tables Cleaning
Although spillage cannot "burn on", the
surface should still be cleaned immediately
after use.
In order to remove stubborn marks, use a little
mild cleaning agent (e.g. washing up liquid).
Water marks and traces of lime can most
easily be removed with the aid of vinegar.
Metallic traces, usually resulting from sliding
the pans across the ceramic surface, are
often difficult to remove. Special products are
available on the market to deal with this.
■ Never use abrasive products which cause
fine scratches where lime traces and dirt
can collect.
■ Never use sharp objects such as steel wool
or abrasive sponges.
Protective equipment
Several different protective devices are built
into the hob to protect your cooking utensils
and the electronics. If the appliance has been
built in correctly, the protective devices will
rarely, if ever, have to come into operation.
Cooking-time limiter
The cooking-time limiter switches the cooking
zones off after a certain time, depending on
the setting. The table below shows the time
taken before the cooking-time limiter switches
the appliance off at the various settings and
before the residual heat indication appears in
the display.

2 10 hours

The cooking zones can then be operated as
normal.
Detection protection
The cooking zone reacts only if there is a
suitable pan standing on it. If there is only a
spoon or a fork on the cooking zone it will not
switch on. Make sure that the pans stand
clear of each other and of the wall.
