Salt, rinse-aid and detergent
Salt
fig. 3
Only use regenerating salt for dishwashers.
Under no circumstances use table salt!
t is quite normal that water bubbles up out of
the reservoir when it is being filled with salt.
■ Unscrew the cap of the salt container in an
anticlockwise direction. Place the supplied
funnel on the container (see Fig. 3). Before
using the dishwasher for the first time,
pour one litre of water into the container
and then pour 1.5 kg of salt into the
container. Carefully remove any spilt salt
and screw the cap on again.
■ Only fill the salt container before operating
a programme. Regenerating salt is
corrosive and can damage the interior of
the dishwasher.
The right amount of salt
■ The dishwasher is equipped with a salt
indicator. The indicator lamp comes on
when the salt container needs refilling.
■ The dishwasher can be adjusted to the
correct quantity of regenerating salt,
depending on the hardness of the tap
water.
60 cm dishwashers
Depending on the dishwasher model, the
following adjustments are possible in the case
of the 60 cm models:
1. The salt use can be adjusted by switching
the caps "+" and "-", one of which is in the
door frame on the left and the other
attached to the end of the hose in the door
frame on the right.
"-" attached to hose reduces the salt use;
"+" attached to hose increases the salt use.
Remove the caps by opening them a quarter
of a turn.
2. Measure the hardness of the water with the
test strip provided. Adjust the salt use in
accordance with the colour of the strip.
Make the adjustment by adjusting the catch
in the salt refill opening in combination with
the control pin in the door frame.
There are four different adjustments possible:
