Cleaning
Disconnect gas and electricity!
Hot soapy water
■ In principle the appliance can be cleaned
with hot soapy water. Always use a soft
cloth and rinse well with clean water.
Liquid cleaners
■ For all enamelled parts such as the pan
supports and the burner lids. Soak badly
stained parts first.
Brillo pads
■ Use only for badly stained enamelled parts.
Glassex/window cleaner
■ For the synthetic parts such as the knobs.
Stahlfix
■ Cover and splash tray.
What you should not use
■ Scouring or aggressive cleaning agents,
such as grill and oven sprays, stain and
rust removers, scouring sand etc.
Damage due to foods with a high
sugar content
This can be largely prevented by regularly
treating the hob with Atag Shine cleaning
agent. This cleaning agent forms a layer of
silicone film on the hob surface. However, this
silicone film will not be resistant to the
extreme temperatures of the zones for very
long and must therefore be reapplied
frequently.
Scratches
■ The hob surface can become scratched
when grains of sand are drawn across the
hob with the pan (when cleaning
vegetables, for example).
Sharp edges on the bases of pans
■ These will scratch if they are slid across
the hob surface, be especially careful with
cast iron pans.
Anything that can melt
■ Plastics, aluminium foil, but especially
foods with a high sugar content should be
kept well away from the hot hob.
If anything should melt, remove it
immediately with the scraper to avoid
permanent damage.

placed above it should be at least 60 cm (see
fig. 14).
