ENTRANCE – SETUP
Prior to your first game: Look at each Person’s effect and explain them to each other, if necessary. The names will
help to understand the symbols printed on the card, which correspond to their effects. For further details, see page
 of this rulebook.
Prepare the theater with its screen and entrance. In a -player game, the movie will be featured in the small screen.
Place the first and second row on the table. The first row also shows the actual screen. In a -player game, add the
third row. In a
-player game, the movie will be featured in the large screen: Place all  rows. (The first row is always
in front, with the others following behind in ascending order.)
In addition, place the game board with the red carpet and the pay kiosk to finish the theater. The red carpet is where
you track the Enjoyment Points.
Shuffle the 4 Movie Posters face down. Reveal  and place it on the poster frame
to the left of the pay kiosk. It shows the genre of the first featured movie.
Each player chooses a color and takes the corresponding game materials:
• 16 Person Cards: Those are your movie fans. It is your goal to provide them with a wonderful night at the
movies. Shuffle your cards face down. Draw 4 cards and add them to your hand. Do not show them to the
other players. Place the
remaining cards as a face down draw deck in front of you.
• 1 Player Token: Place it in front of the first space of the red carpet on the board tile with
the pay kiosk.
• 3 Tickets: You will need them later in the game. For now, stack them next to the game
board with the pay kiosk, with the
 at the bottom and the  on top.
Hand the Bag of Popcorn to the most enthusiastic movie fan among the players. They will start
the game.
SHOWTIME! – FLOW OF PLAY
A game of
Showtime
is played over  rounds ( movie screenings). In each round, you will place exactly  Persons on
seats, in order to create the maximum enjoyment for them. Try to respect their favorite genre and take care of their
neighbors as both contribute to their satisfaction.
The player who gathered the most Enjoyment Points throughout the game wins.
The player with the Bag of Popcorn will go first. Then, play continues in clockwise order with each player taking a
turn. On your turn, perform all  of the following actions, in the given order:
1. Play a Person onto an empty seat 2. Check their favorite genre 3. Draw 1 card
