Impedance Select Switch -
The IMPEDANCE SELECT switch is located on the rear of the unit. There are output transformer taps for
2Ω, 4Ω and 8Ω (Ω=ohm) loads since they are the most common impedance requirements bass players
run into. Using the correct setting is important for longer tube life and maximum performance. It's
best if this switch is configured while the amp is on standby. Simply move the selector to the correct
impedance setting.
Tip: If you are unsure about the impedance of your speaker enclosures, just look on the back.
Usually, you will see a 4Ω or 8Ω specification. Combining cabinets will change the impedance.
If you use two 8Ω cabinets at the same time (in parallel) you should use the 4Ω setting, and if
you use two 4Ω cabinets at the same time (in parallel) you should use the 2Ω setting.
Ground Lift Switch -
Sets the DI ground to be either common with the amplifier (out position) or lifted from the amplifier (in
position) for the purpose of hum elimination.
Pre/Post EQ Switch -
When this switch is in the out position, the DI is driven from the first tube stage (PRE EQ). When the
switch in depressed, the DI is driven from the output of the preamp (POST EQ).
DI Level Control -
This controls the output signal level of the balanced DI. When the control is fully counter-clockwise, the
DI will be off, and the maxmium signal level is 8.24 dBu when the control is fully clockwise.
DI XLR Jack -
Balanced output for sending a signal to a mixer or driving a power amplifier.
Tuner Jack -
This jack may be used to send a straight, buffered signal to an electric tuner, or it could be used as a
signal pass-through to send a signal to another amplifier for bi-amping. This jack is always active.
Remote Switch Jack -
Stereo 1/4", switch input for channel switching. This foot switch may be purchased from any authorized
Peavey dealer (Item #03050680).
