Assembly tools for screws and nuts:
j When using screwdriver bits, always use a
universal bit holder.
j To screw things in, always switch the changeover
switch “drill / percussion drill”
2
to the right to
position
.
Q
Fitting / using the dust
extraction device
j Only use the dust extraction device when work-
ing on cement, brick and building stone. Wood
or plastic shavings could easily lead to the de-
vice becoming blocked.
ATTENTION! FIRE HAZARD! Do not work
on any metal materials when you have fitted
the dust extraction device. Hot metal filings could
set parts of the dust extraction device on fire.
NOTE: The dust extraction device
11
can only be
fitted to the additional handle
10
if the depth stop
8
has previously been removed. If need be, loosen
the wing screw
9
by turning it anti - clockwise and
remove the depth stop
8
. Attach it again after
you have fitted the dust extraction device
11
and
tighten the wing screw
9
again.
j Loosen the sing screw
9
and place the dust
extraction device
11
precisely onto the addi-
tional handle
10
.
j Tighten the wing screw
9
by turning it clock-
wise.
j You should preferably use a workshop vacuum
cleaner for dust extraction purposes. Connect
the tube of the dust extraction device with the
angle adapter
12
; see also Figure F.
NOTE: We recommend the use of a dust ex-
traction device
11
up to a drill size of 13 mm.
j If it is necessary to use the reducer piece
13
,
push the reducer piece into the adapter for ex-
ternal vacuum extraction
12
.
j To dismantle, proceed in reverse order to what
is described above.
Q
First use
Q
Switching on and off
When operating the hammer - action drill you can
select between intermittent or continuous operation
mode.
To switch on intermittent operation mode:
j Press the ON / OFF switch
4
.
To switch off intermittent operation mode:
j Release the ON / OFF switch
4
.
Switching continuous operation on:
j Press and hold the ON / OFF switch
4
down
and press the locking button
3
.
To switch off continuous operation mode:
j Press and then release the ON / OFF switch
4
.
Q
Pre - selecting the
rotational speed
With the handwheel for speed preselection
5
,
you can pre - select the rotational speed in steps.
j The rotational speed that is suitable depends
on the material that has to be processed. We
recommend you carry out tests first to deter-
mine the best rotational speed.
Tip: These two basic rules with regard to rota-
tional speed will, however, always help you:
1. large drill diameter = lower rotational speed
and so a smaller drill diameter = higher rota-
tional speed
2. harder material = lower rotational speed
Q
Infinitely variable adjustment
of the rotational speed
The ON / OFF switch
4
has a variable speed
control device. Slight pressure on the ON / OFF
switch
4
will bring about a low rotational speed.
The rotational speed will increase the more pres-
sure you exert.
