SPEAKERS WITH BUILT-IN POWERED SUBWOOFERS (cont’d)
Connecting
NOTE: Turn your A/V receiver or processor off before connecting to the built-in powered subwoofers.
Using the Speaker Input Terminals
When you connect the speakers to your amplifier or receiver, the built-in powered subwoofers are automatically
activated. (Follow instructions as outlined in the “Speaker Connection” section, Figs. 7-11)
Using the Sub/LFE Input Jack
Connect to the speakers’ left and right
subwoofer inputs as shown, using a “Y”
adapter and RCA-to-RCA interconnect
cables (Fig. 12).
NOTE: Speaker cable must still be used
to connect the speakers to your receiver
or amplifier for normal full-range operation.
Setting the Speakers’ Subwoofer Controls
When setting the speakers’ built-in powered subwoofer controls, use music and video soundtracks that you know
well. They should contain selections with extended bass that is continuous and repetitive.
Set tone or equalizer controls on your receiver or preamplifier to flat (or 0) and switch any loudness controls off.
A: Procedure for models with Subwoofer Level Control only:
1. Starting at “0”, adjust the Subwoofer Level Control on both speakers until you hear the best bass balance.
If the overall sound is too “thin”, you have not set the Subwoofer Level Controls high enough; if
the sound becomes “boomy” you have set them too high.
B: Procedure for models with Subwoofer Level Control and
Sub/LFE-In Level Control:
1.Turn the Sub-In/LFE-In Level Controls on both speakers to their minimum (completely counter-
clockwise).
2. Starting at “0”, adjust the Subwoofer Level Controls on both speakers until you hear the best
bass balance. If the overall sound is too “thin”, you have not set the Subwoofer Level Controls high
enough; if the sound becomes “boomy” you have set them too high.
3. Slowly rotate the Sub-In/LFE-In Level Controls on both speakers to provide the amount of
additional bass you desire – these controls provide extra bass over and above what is provided by the
Subwoofer Level Controls whenever there is additional bass signal from the Sub/LFE Output of your
receiver or processor.

Réglage du niveau global du caisson de sous-graves amplifié. La position centrale correspond à réponse neutre.

Réglage de l'intensité des fréquences graves transmises par le récepteur ou processeur au canal «.1» Sub/LFE.
Raccordement
NOTE: Mettre le récepteur A/V hors tension avant de raccorder le caisson de sous-graves.
Utilisation des bornes d'entrée des enceintes
Le caisson de sous-graves amplifié devient automatiquement actif lors du raccordement des enceinte à l'amplificateur ou
au récepteur. (Voir les instructions présentées à la section Raccordement des enceintes – fig. 7-11).
Utilisation du connecteur d'entrée Sub/LFE-In
Raccordement selon l'illustration aux entrées
sous-graves des enceintes de gauche et de
droite, à l'aide d'un adaptateur ¨Y¨ et de
câbles de raccordement RCA-RCA (fig. 12).
NOTE: On doit toujours utiliser du câble pour
enceinte pour raccorder les enceintes au
récepteur ou à l'amplificateur, pour obtenir
une performance normale sur toute la
gamme des fréquences.
Réglage des commandes de la section sous-graves amplifiée de l'enceinte
Lors du réglage des commandes de la section sous-graves amplifiée de l'enceinte, l'utilisateur devra employer un enregistrement
musical ou le son d'un enregistrement vidéo qu'il connaît bien. Cet enregistrement de référence devrait contenir des sections
de basses continues et répétitives.
Régler la commande de tonalité ou égalisation du récepteur ou amplificateur à la position 0 (courbe de restitution plate),
et supprimer toute suramplification des graves.
A: Procédure pour les modèles avec seulement une commande de niveau basses profondes
1. Commencer à ¨0¨ et ajuster la commande de niveau sous-graves sur les deux enceintes, jusqu'à l'obtention du
meilleur équilibre des graves. Si la sonorité globale manque de corps, c'est parce que la commande de niveau sous-
graves n'a pas été placée à un niveau suffisamment élevé; si la sonorité devient trop résonnante, c'est parce que la
commande a été placée à un niveau trop élevée.
B:
Procédure pour les modèles avec commandes pour niveau sous-graves et Sub/LFE-In
1. Sur chaque enceinte, sélectionner le niveau minimum pour la commande de niveau Sub/LFE-In (rotation antihoraire maximale).
2. Commencer à ¨0¨ et ajuster la commande de niveau sous-graves sur les deux enceintes, jusqu'à l'obtention du meilleur équilibre
des graves. Si la sonorité globale manque de corps, c'est parce que la commande de niveau sous-graves n'a pas été placée à
un niveau suffisamment élevé; si la sonorité devient trop résonnante, c'est parce que la commande a été placée à un niveau
