ACO:
ISDN service. Abbreviation for Advice of Charge and means that the charge of the call is
displayed.
ARS:
Abbreviation for Automatic Route Selection; selects the least expensive carrier service in
making a long distance call.
B (Bearer) channel:
The basic channel with a maximum transmission speed of 64 kBit/s.
Call forwarding:
Forward calls to another station.
CCBS:
ISDN sevice. Abbreviation for Completion of Calls to Busy Subscriber and means that a
busy subscriver will be automatically called back as soon as he/she finishes his/her call.
CLIP:
ISDN service. Abbreviation for Calling Line Identification Presentation and means that
the calling party’s number appears on the called party’s display.
CLIR:
ISDN service. Abbreviation for Calling Line Identification Restriction and means that the
calling party’s number is suppressed on the calling party’s display.
COLP:
ISDN service. Abbreviation for Connected Line Identification Presentation and means
that the called party’s number appears on the calling party’s display.
COLR:
ISDN service. Abbreviation for Connected Line Identification Restriction and means that
the called party’s number is suppressed on the calling party’s display.
DECT:
The abbreviation DECT means “Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications”.
Advantages of DECT
Excellent voice quality: Through sampling of digital signals DECT units obtain nearly
noiseless transmission.
High grade tapping security: Based on digital transmission, DECT conversations are
well protected against unapproved monitoring.
Multi-Handset operation: To operate several handsets at the base unit, no cable
installation is required.
Interlink: Intercom conversation can be held free of charge between the registered
handsets.
Functions like a PBX: More than one operation can be performed at the same time, like
a PBX. eg., during an external call, an internal call or outside call can be transferred to
another handset.
Multi-Base station operation: More than one handset can be registered to several base
units, e.g., for private and office applications.
