This D VD Recorder records high quality i mages to rapid random access capabl e HDD (Hard disk drive) or D VD-RAM. This has resulted in many
new f eatures that outperform older tape formats. The follo wing information summar izes a fe w of these features.
Instant r ecordin g
Y ou no longer need to search for empty disc space. B y pressing the
recording button, the unit finds av ailab le recording space and begins
recording right awa y . There is no need to worr y about ov erwr iting
already recorded content.

F rom the power on, recording star ts in about 1 second

after the
REC button is pressed. I f the TV GUIDE button is pressed while the
unit is off , the Electronic Progr am Guide (EPG ) start s displa ying in
less than 1 second, with the full EPG displaying in about 1.5
seconds.

HDD recording
Y o u can k eep o n record ing y our fa v orite pr ogr ams to an inte rnal HDD
that is ab l e to record up to 355 hou rs when usin g EP (8H) mode .
Y ou can al so high speed transfer (dub) your fa vorite programs to
D VD-RAM, D VD-R, D VD-RW (D V D-Video format) or +R and creat e a
backup disc.

≥The SD card slot of this unit lets you play digital camera
photographs and transfer (dub) them from a card to DV D-RAM for
easy storage without using a computer.
≥The D V automatic recording function of this unit lets you easily
transf er (dub) a video to the H DD by connecting only a single D V
cabl e.

broadca st is easy too. Simply sele ct the d esired pro gram from the
displayed list. Y ou c an also s earch for desir ed program s alphabe tically
or by displaying on ly the pr ograms in a cer tain categor y .

Instant pla y
There is no need to rewi nd or search forw ard. Direct Navigator
guides you to the beginning of the recorded video i mmed iately .
Chasing pla ybac k
There is no need to w ait until recording is complete. Without
stopping recording, you can play the video currently being recor ded
from its beginning.
Simul taneous Re cording and Pla ybac k
While recording, you can play another video pr ogram that was
recorded previously .
Time Slip
During play , and also while recording, you can jump to the scene you
wish to view by specifying the skip time.
