Common Interface module (CI)
Aan de voorzijde van het apparaat bevinden zich twee sleuven waarin modules
worden gestoken om gecodeerde programma’s te decoderen.
Om schade te voorkomen mogen uitsluitend modules met het “PC Card” logo
worden gebruikt. Andere modules kunnen onherstelbare schade toebrengen aan de
receiver.
Gebruik geen kracht bij het insteken van de modules. Neem in plaats daarvan de
module uit de sleuf en steek hem nogmaals in. Let ook erop dat u de module met de
juiste kant naar boven plaatst.
Smartcards zijn soms erg bedrukt, aangezien ze vaak voor gebruik in andere deco-
ders ontworpen zijn. Bij de meest gangbare Common Interface-modules moeten
de kaarten met de gouden, glimmende contacten naar boven worden ingestoken.
Zorg ervoor dat de meestal goudkleurige contactpunten op de smartcard schoon en
stofvrij zijn voordat u de smartcard in de Common Interface-module steekt.
Als de decodeermodule correct herkend wordt, verschijnt de naam ervan in de lijst
onder het menu-item “Codering” in het hoofdmenu. Als u in deze lijst naar het item
voor deze module gaat en op OK drukt, opent een menu dat door de desbetreffende
decodeermodule wordt samengesteld. Bij vragen hierover dient u zich te wenden tot
de fabrikant van de module.
Opmerking: Sommige modules melden zich eerst helemaal aan en stellen pas
een menusysteem samen als een geldige kaart ingestoken wordt. Gebruik de
toetsen OK en EXIT om door de merkspecifi eke menu’s te navigeren. Als een
menu niet meer reageert op OK of EXIT, kunt u met de MENU-toets het dial-
oogvenster sluiten. De receiver verbreekt dan de verbinding met het menusys-
teem van de module.
