ORBIS Supra Timer Switch. 3 models: D, QRD and QRS. D has no : 3440

ORBIS Supra Timer Switch. 3 models: D, QRD and QRS. D has no battery backup in event of power failure.
The other 2 have battery backup. The question is - Will removal of the backup battery from QRD have any effect on normal operation i.e. while 220v is being supplied?
Silly question I know but I prefer the unit to stop operating during power outages. and model D is unavailable.
