Frothing milk.
DANGER to burn injuries!
Hot steam and hot water escapes when working with the steam nozzle 8. The steam nozzle becomes very hot. Only grasp the
steam nozzle by the plastic handle 10. Never hold hands or other parts of the body in the water vapour.
When frothing milk with the steam nozzle 8: first dip the steam nozzle into the milk before starting the steam function. And
stop the steam function before taking the steam nozzle out again.
In addition to dispensing hot water, the steam pipe can also be used to froth milk. This requires a little practice. To get the right frothed
milk, we advise you to:
-Try milk from different manufacturers.
-Use milk with a high protein content, this foams better
-Use milk with a higher fat content if you want a more creamy milk
-Always use milk from the refrigerator (around 5 °C).
-When frothing, do not let the milk get boiling hot. Higher temperatures alter the flavour and collapse the milk foam. A hint:
with a metal jug, the right temperature is reached when the side walls of the jug are too hot to hold in your hand.
-Do not wait too long once the milk has frothed. Some of the foam will otherwise collapse again.
Make sure the machine is ready for use, with the blue LED lighting under the selectable espresso buttons on continuously. The dial on
the side for steam delivery is in the "-" position (OFF)
1. Fill a container to a maximum of half with cold milk.
2. Press the steam button

the pipe.

5. Let a little steam come out and then interrupt this by turning the rotary knob to "-" (off).
6. Dip the steam pipe into the milk and slowly turn the rotary switch back in the direction of the symbol
7. When it is visible that the volume of milk has increased (about 50%) immerse the steam nozzle a little deeper. The whirlpool
should remain present. Now the bubbles are distributed more finely.
8. When the milk foam has the desired density, turn the knob back to "-" (off)
9. You can run the milk frothing procedure for a maximum of 80 seconds, after this time period the machine switches this
function off by itself
10. Add the milk froth to the espresso as soon as possible.
11. To avoi d mi lk resid ues remaining or caking on the milk nozzle, clean it with a clean, possibly slightly damp, cloth as soon as
possible after use.
12. Then open the rotary switch briefly to allow steam to escape. This removes any remaining milk residues.
13. Finally, turn the switch back to the "-" position (OFF).
14. Press the steam button on the front of the machine to unlock this function. The machine then automatically switches to the
espresso function.
When switching on the steam function, you will see that the pointer in the temperature indicator rises further than when using the
espresso function. You can also use this function to make a slightly hotter espresso. Bear in mind, however, that too hot an espresso
will lose its aroma
