Uw fax kiest niets. Controleer de voedingskabel en de wandcontactdoos.
Controleer of de telefoonlijn (niet uw externe telefoon of handset) in de
LINE aansluiting aan de achterzijde van uw fax is aangesloten. Heeft u
een externe telefoon aangesloten, neem dan de hoorn op en controleer of
u de kiestoon hoort. Heeft u geen externe telefoon, druk dan op de HAAK/
SPREEK toets en luister naar een kiestoon. Hoort u niets, dan kan er een
probleem zijn met de telefoonlijn. Hoort u wel een kiestoon, dan gebruikt
uw fax wellicht de verkeerde kiesmethode (puls of toon). Raadpleeg dan
de informatie over de kiesparameter “MF(TOON)/DP(PULS)” in het
hoofdstuk “Programmeren”. Is uw fax op een bedrijfscentrale
aangesloten, controleer tevens of de fax is ingesteld voor gebruik via een
bedrijfscentrale. (Raadpleeg “Aansluiten op een bedrijfscentrale (PBX)”
in het hoofdstuk “Installatie”.)
Het display toont een communicatiefout. Dit kan verschillende
oorzaken hebben. Wellicht probeert u te communiceren met een
incompatibel fax (de standaard fax kan alleen met ITU-T Groep 3 faxen
communiceren. Met de ISDN G4 optie is de fax in staat met ITU-T Groep
3 en Groep 4 faxen te communiceren). De andere fax kan wellicht niet de
gewenste functie uitvoeren, zoals op afroep verzenden of vertrouwelijk
ontvangen. Wellicht is het papier bij de ontvangende fax op of is een
papierstoring opgetreden. Ook een slechte telefoonverbinding kan
communicatiefouten veroorzaken. Probeer uw faxbericht opnieuw te
verzenden en controleer of u het juiste nummer heeft gebruikt. Dient u
eerst een toegangsnummer voor een buitenlijn te kiezen, controleer dan of
de fax is ingesteld voor gebruik via een bedrijfscentrale (raadpleeg
“Aansluiten op een bedrijfscentrale (PBX)” in het hoofdstuk
“Installatie”). Sommige bedrijfscentrales hebben een afwijkende kiestoon
of ze kunnen de snelheid van het kiezen van een nummer door uw fax niet
altijd goed verwerken. In sommige landen moet u na het kiezen van het
internationale toegangsnummer een pauze invoeren (met de PAUZE
snelkiestoets) om de fax opdracht te geven te wachten op de internationale
kiestoon. Doen zich regelmatig problemen voor bij communicatie met
dezelfde fax, programmeer dan het nummer onder een snelkiestoets of
kiescode en wijzig de parameters (zie hoofdstuk ‘Telefoonregister”). Het
is ook mogelijk dat voor uw fax of die van de andere partij service nodig
is. Om uw eigen fax te controleren, kunt u een document naar een andere
lokatie verzenden.
