IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. READ CAREFULLY AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
Read this instruction manual carefully before using the appliance. Familiarise yourself with the
operation, adjustments and functions of switches. Internalise and follow the safety and operation
instructions in order to avoid possible risks and hazards.
1. Follow all safety instructions in order to prevent damage being caused by incorrect use!
2. Keep the user manual for further use. If you pass this appliance on to third parties, you must also
deliver this user manual with it.
3. Before connecting the appliance to the mains power supply, check that the power supply voltage
and current rating corresponds with the power supply details shown on the appliance rating
label.
4. Never use an appliance that is damaged! Disconnect the appliance from the mains and contact
your supplier if it is damaged.
5. Danger of electric shock! Never try to repair the appliance yourself. In the event of any
malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualied personnel only.
6. Warning! Never immerse electrical parts of the appliance in water or any other uids when
cleaning or during operation. Never hold the appliance under owing water.
7. The appliance should not be used near water – for example, near a bathtub, wash bowl, kitchen
sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool.
8. Do not operate the appliance with wet hands or while standing on a wet oor. Never touch the
mains plug with wet or moist hands.
9. Do not open the appliance casing under any circumstances. Do not insert any foreign objects into
the inside of the casing.
10. Never use accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They could pose a safety
risk to the user and might damage the appliance. You must therefore use original accessories only.
11. The appliance is only suitable for use at moderate degrees of latitude. Do not use in the tropics or
in particularly humid climates.
12. Keep the appliance away from any hot surfaces and open ames. Always operate the appliance
on a level, stable, clean and dry surface. Protect the appliance against heat and cold, dust, direct
sunlight, moisture, dripping and splashing water.
13. Do not place objects with open ames, e.g. candles, on top or beside the appliance. Do not place
objects lled with water, e.g. vases on or near the appliance.
14. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory, or mental capabilities, or by those who lack experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision and instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
15. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
16. This appliance is classied as protection class II and must not be connected to a protective
ground.
17. Regularly check the power cord and plug for damage. A damaged power cord has to be replaced
by the manufacturer, its customer service department, or a similarly qualied person in order to
avoid danger of injury.
18. Avoid damage to the power cord. Do not crush, squeeze, bend, or scour on sharp edges. Keep the
power cord away from hot surfaces and naked ames.
19. Lay the cables in such a way that nobody can inadvertently pull them or trip over them.
20. Do not pull the plug out of the socket by the power cord, and do not wrap the power cord around
the appliance.
21. If an extension cord is used, its capacity needs to be suitable for the power consumed by the
appliance.
22. Connect the mains plug to a socket that is easy to reach so that you can disconnect it from the
mains supply quickly in an emergency. The mains socket must remain accessible at all times. Pull
the mains plug out of the socket to switch o the appliance completely. Use the mains socket as a
disconnection device which should be accessible at all times.
23. The appliance is powered when connected to the power supply.
24. Unplug from the wall outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
25. Always switch the appliance o before unplugging from the wall outlet.
26. Attention! In the event of a malfunction as a result of electrostatic discharge and momentary
electrical surges, unplug the appliance and plug it in again.
27. Make sure that no electrical wires, water, gas or other lines are located around the installation
location.
