NAVMAN
Instrumentos diferentes miden velocidades
diferentes. Un sensor de rueda mide la
velocidad del barco en el agua (STW). Un GPS
mide la velocidad del barco sobre el fondo
(SOG). Si hay corriente, estas dos velocidades
serán distintas, como se explica a continuación.
Por lo tanto, las lecturas de velocidad,
corredera, corredera diaria, economía y alcance
dependerán de si la información es STW o SOG
y de la constancia de la corriente.
Apéndice C – Velocidad en el agua y sobre el fondo
Cuando la corriente viene de proa, la velocidad sobre el fondo es inferior a la velocidad
en el agua.
Cuando la corriente viene de popa, la velocidad es superior a la velocidad en el agua
