Het visvinder scherm, beschikbaar als de Geonav is aangesloten op de visvinder
blackbox, maakt het mogelijk om de gegevens zichtbaar te maken, opgevangen in de zee
rondom de boot. Het toestel werkt dankzij Sonar techniek, die de echo meet opgewekt
door het uitzenden van een hoog-frequent geluidsignaal. De transducer gemonteerd
onder het schip en is gericht op de zeebodem produceert het signaal. De gemeten echo
biedt gedetailleerde informatie over de afstand tussen de transducer en de zeebodem, de
aard van het materiaal dat de zeebodem vormt (modder, rots, zand etc.) en de mogelijke
aanwezigheid van obstakels tussen de transducer en de zeebomen (scholen vis etc.)
Het signaal verwerkt door het toestel wordt in grafische vorm weergegeven, waarbij de
sterkte van de echo’s tot uitdrukking wordt gebracht in diverse kleuren. Met deze
weergave geeft de kleur van de zeebodem en eventuele obstakels informatie over de
aard van de samenstelling. Stel de KLEURLIJN en GEVOELIGHEIDS parameters zo in
dat de diverse kleuren overeenkomen met signaalsterktes.
De standaardschermen geven de volgende
gegevens:
