General Informaon
This gas barbecue is cered under Canadian and American Naonal Standards, CSA 1.18a - 2008 and
ANSI Z21.89a - 2008 respecvely for outdoor gas grills and should be installed to conform with local codes.
In absence of local codes, install to the current CAN/CSA-B149.1 Propane Installaon Code in Canada or
to the Naonal Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1 in the United States; or the Standard for Recreaonal Vehicles
ANSI A119.2 / NFPA 1192; and Recreaonal Vehicle Code, CSA Z240 RV series, as applicable.
Use only the pressure regulator provided with this barbecue. Replacement pressure regulators must be
supplied by or specied by the manufacturer. The regulator supplies a pressure of 11 inches water column
to the gas grill and has a female CGA#600 type ng.
Regulator Installaon: To install the regulator, screw it into the threaded hole on the right side of the
grill. Tube burners may have to be pushed upwards slightly from underneath to ensure that the orice
is aligned with the opening in the burner. 1 lb disposable cylinders to be used with this unit must be
equipped with a male CGA #600 type connecon. This cylinder has a posive seang connecon, which
will not allow gas ow unl a posive seal has been achieved. To install the cylinder simply screw it into
the regulator - ghten hand ght. The cylinder must be an upright posion, hanging down from the
regulator when operang the grill. This will prevent liquid propane from entering the regulator, which can
cause over ring and damage to the regulator.
WARNING! Use cylinders that are marked “Propane Fuel” only.
WARNING! Be careful not to cross thread when installing the cylinder. Do not use tools to ghten
the cylinder.
Oponal Supply Hose Instrucons: An oponal hose is available from your Napoleon Dealer that allows
the grill to be connected to a 20 lb (9.1 kg) cylinder. A dented or rusted cylinder may be hazardous and
should be checked by your propane supplier. Never use a cylinder with a damaged valve. Use only a
propane supply cylinder constructed and marked in accordance with the specicaons for LP-gas cylinders
of the Canadian Transport Commission (CTC) or the US Department of Transportaon (DOT). The
propane cylinder must be provided with a shut-o valve terminang in a propane cylinder valve type
QCC1, and a safety relief device having direct communicaon with the vapour space of the cylinder. The
cylinder supply system must be arranged for vapour withdrawal and the cylinder shall include a collar to
protect the cylinder valve. The cylinder shall incorporate a listed OPD (overll protecon device). To use
the hose, connect it (note the connecon to the 20 lb cylinder is a le hand thread) between the tank
valve and the regulator on the grill. These connecons should be hand ghtened, and leak tested. Ensure
that the cylinder valve is turned o whenever the grill is not in use.
Oponal R.V. Kit Instrucons: An oponal kit is available from your Napoleon Dealer that allows the grill
to be connected to a R.V. If installed on a recreaonal vehicle the grill shall be connected to the vehicles
propane system with a exible hose connector complying with the high pressure requirements of the
Standard for Pigtails and Hose Connecons for LP-Gas, ANSI/UL 569, and shall be of a length no longer
than that required to allow the grill to be mounted in the “in use” posion of its mounng system.
California Proposion 65: The burning of gas fuel creates by-products, some of which are on the list as
substances known by the State of California to cause cancer or reproducve harm. When cooking with
gas, always ensure adequate venlaon to the unit, to minimize exposure to such substances.
Handle With Care
CAUTION! Use care when handling or transporng your grill to prevent damage and misalignment
of internal components. Although this grill has been designed with mobility in mind, rough handling or
abuse will result in damage to internal components, prevenng your grill from operang properly.
WARNING! The dust cap should be in place when the propane cylinder is not in use to
prevent dirt and debris from entering.
WARNING! Review instrucons on propane cylinder prior to using. A dented or rusted
cylinder may be hazardous. Discard cylinder if rust parcles or debris are in the connecon area
of the propane cylinder.
