Note:
• It is recommended USB ash drive or the SD /MMC card is plugged when the unit is in OFF
mode.
• There are many USB device s in the market. We cannot guarante e to support all differ ent
models. Please tr y another USB device if your dev ice is not supported.
• Some SD/MMC car d may b e incompat ible.
Y ou can connect a USB ash drive (not included) to the USB connector port or a SD/MMC
card (not included) t o the memory expansion card slo t on the unit to play DivX movies as w ell
as sound & picture les.
1. Plug the USB ash drive into the USB por t on the unit. Plug the memory
card into the memory expansion c ard slot.
2. Press
SOURCE
button, then press to select “Media”. Press t o select
“USB” or “SD” (“MMC”), then press
ENTER
to conrm. (Note: Select “DVD”
to switch to disc m ode.)
For operation of playing les on the USB ash drive or SD/MMC c ard, please refer t o the
section “PLA YING MP3/DivX /PICTURE FILES”
Cleaning
Be sure to turn the unit of f and disconnect the AC adaptor before maintaining the unit.
• Use a soft, dry , clean cloth. Regu larly dust the vents at the back or sides.
• Using solvents, abrasive or alcohol-based pr oducts risks damaging the appliance.
• If an obje ct or liquid enter s inside the appliance, unplug it immediately and have it chec ked by
an authorized engineer.
Note on disc
• Do not use irregular shape CDs (example: heart-shaped, oc tagonal ones). It may result in
malfunctions.
• Do not plac e more than one disc in the disc c ompartment.
• Do not try to open the disc compartment during playing.
• Do not touch the lens. Doing so may cause malfunction.
• If there is a scra tch, dirt or ngerprints on the disc, it may cause track ing error . Befor e playing,
clean the disc with a cleaning cloth . Wipe the disc from the center out. Don’t store discs in
places with high temperatures or high humi dity , they can become warped. After playing, store
the disc in its case.
Important Note
• Before tr ansporting the unit, remove the disc from the disc compartment.
No power .
• Ensure th e AC ada ptor is connected.
• Make sure that the unit is turned on .
The remote control does not funct ion.
• Make sure the infrared remo te sensor is no t blocked.
• Point the remote directly at the infrared remote sensor on the unit.
• Replace the batter y in the remo te with a new one.
V ery little or no sound is coming f rom a DVD.
• Make sure that the unit is turned O N.
• Make sure the u nit is not paused. P ress .
• Make sure the u nit is not in fast-forward or fast-reverse mode. Press .
• Make sure that the connections are correct.
• Make sure the
MUTE
function is not on.
The player does not star t playback
• Insert the disc with the printed side facing u p.
• Check that the disc can ac tually be played by this device.
• Check that t he disc’s regional code matc hes the player ’s regional c ode. This player ’s regional
code is 2.
• Clean the disc.
The picture is not clear .
• The DVD is dirty . Gently clean the disc.
• The disc is scratched.
• Please adjust the LCD’s brightness and contrast in SET UP MENU.

Navigating the setup menu

A TTENTION:
T o reduce the risk of ele ctric shock, do not remove the
cover or back. There are no user ser viceable par ts inside the unit.
Refer all ser vicing to qualied pers onnel.
NEVER fit make shift stands or legs with woodscrews. Use only approved supports and
fasteners specially designed f or the equipment.
NEVER let anyone, especially children, push ob jects into holes, ventilat ion slots or any other
opening; this could result in fatal electric shock!
AL WA YS disconnect the AC adaptor when you are not going t o use the unit for a long period of
time.
ENSURE that all electrical connections (including the mains plug, extension leads and
interconnections betw een pieces of equipment) are properly made in accordance with the
instructions given. Switch off the main supply when making or changing connections.
CONSUL T your dealer if y ou are ever in doubt about the installation, operat ion or saf ety of
your equip ment.
DON’T continue to operate the equipment if it is damaged in any way or if it does no t function
normally . Disconnect the AC adaptor and consult your dealer .
DON’T leave equipment switched on when it is unattende d unless it is part of it’s normal
function to oper ate in your absence, f or example a video cassette recorder with timed
recording facility .
LISTEN to headphones at moderat e volume levels; high volume levels can permanently
damage your he aring.
W ARNING:
• AC adaptor is used as the disconnect device. It shall remain readily operable and should not
be obstructed during intended use. T o be completely disconnec ted the apparatus from supply
mains, the AC adaptor of the appara tus shall be disconnec ted from the mains socket outlet
completely .
• Never us e an AC adaptor that is damaged, route power lead in a safe manner and make sure
it is not sub jected to tr apping or pinching. If the po wer le ad is damaged re fer to a qualied
service agent .
• Place the unit on a at and even surface.
• Do not restrict the air ow of the unit by placing it in a place with poor air ow , by covering it
with a cloth, or by placing it on carpeting .
• T o avoid magnetized, do not place the unit near speak er or magne t.
• Do not use this unit in direct sunlig ht or leave the unit in a closed automobile (or yacht, etc)
where it would be exposed to high temperatures above 40°C.
• It also should not be placed in temperatures less than 5°C or greater than 35°C.
• No naked ame sources such as lighted candles should be placed on the AC adaptor and
main unit.
• Do not use the unit immediately after transportation from a cold place to a warm place,
condensation problem may result.
• The ventilation should not be imp eded by co vering the ventilation opening s with items such
as newspaper s, table-cloths, cur tains, etc.
• No naked ame sources, such as lighted candles, sh ould be placed on the apparatus.
• The use of apparatus in moderate c limates.
• The apparatus should not be e xposed to dripping or spla shing.
• Ensure a minimum distance of 5cm around the apparat us for suf cient ventilat ion.
• Do not place objects lled with l iquids, such as vases, on the ap paratus.
• The marking plate is loc ated on the b ottom of unit.
• At tention should be drawn t o the environmental aspec ts of bat tery disposal.
• Do not throw batteries in re!
• Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sun shine, re or the like.
• Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headpho nes can cause hearing loss.
• Under the inuence of electrical f ast transi ent or/and elec trostat ic phenomenon, the product
may malfunction and r equire user to p ower reset.
The lightning ash with arrowhead symbol within the triangle is a warning sign alerting
the user of “dangerous volta ge” inside the unit.
The exclamation point within the triangle is a warning sign alerting the user of
important instruct ions accompanying the pr oduct.

P ARENT AL
Some DVD di scs are equipped with a password function and are rated according to their
content. The contents allowed by parental lock le vel and the way a DVD disc is controlled
may vary from disc to disc. For example, if the disc allows, you could lock- out violent scenes
unsuitable for children or you could lock out playb ack of the disc altogether.
Y ou cannot play DVD discs ra ted higher than the level you sele cted unless you cancel t he
parental lock function.

DivX VOD
• Some DivX Video-On-Dema nd les required registration code, please get the code of your
DVD player.
• Registration code is for DivX Video-On-Demand only , do not apply this code for another
applications or websit es.
TV DISPLA Y
4:3 P ANSCAN
• When wide-screen video is played, this mode clips the right and left sides of the image so
that it can be viewed on a conventional screen.
• Some wide-scre en DVDs that do not permit Pan Scan mode playback are automatically
played in letterbo x mode (black bands top and bott om).
4:3 LETTE RBOX
• When wide-screen video is played in this mode on a conventional screen, black bands
appear at the top and bott om of the s creen.
16:9 (Wide screen)
• This is the correct mode for playing wide-screen videos on a wide-screen TV .
WIDE SQUEEZE
The wide-screen image will be displayed in full screen in its native aspect ratio and so does the
4:3 image but with black borders on the left and t he right side.
Notes:
• The visible picture size is preset on the DVD disc. Theref ore the playba ck picture o f some
DVD discs may not con form to the picture size you select.
• When you play DVD discs rec orded in the 4:3 aspect ratio, the playback picture will always
appears in the 4:3 aspect ratio regardless of the TV shape setting i n the function setup menu.
ANGLE MARK
ON:
T o show angle mark when a disc with multiple camera angles is playing. Y ou can view
different camer a angles of a DVD disc by pressing

button on remot e control.
OFF:
T o hide angle mark.
NOTE: This function is only a vailable for discs encoded with multiple camera angles.
